Ontario needs more cops like yourself. Ones with good sense and a rational mind who actually make our urban dumps better places to live. Props.

Most cops here in Ontario hate bodybuilders and make it their personal vendetta using the badge to fuck with them as much as possible. I can understand where they are coming from though, being loner losers who got picked on in school and rejected by women with the 'i'll show them' attitude.

I find the the cops who ride around on bikes are the worst, seeing as how they got there because not even their fellow officers dont want to work with them since they are big pricks. Now they have a HUGE chip on their shoulder and need to justify their pathetic existences by fucking with the working class, whom happen to pay their salaries.

In all honeslty though you can't blame the cop, you must blame the department or gov, as people that are over worked in that kind of thing, or undertrained, or poorly selected cannot expected to do go work as they are only primates.

Anyone who lives here knows what im talking about. At least in the US the cops treat you like human beings. Here, they talk and act like creepy robots with no personality and treat you like human garbage. Even if its a unjustified traffic stop and you've done nothing wrong.

Other than that I love cops. They protect us from all the 'bad guys'  

Meh I think cops they recieve the most opposition are the most difficult. Which is logical, if people treat they like trainer cops just because there on a bike, which most will of course there gonna be on the defense as soon as you meet them.

Same with parties or other environments that give poor reception to authority.

Also cops that left people off all the time with warnings just make it worst for other folk.  
 
99 percent of people expect to get a warning 99 percent of the time, so no one ever gets ticked, of course you can say some speeders are more wreckless than others, but it's really hard for a cop to give an objective measure of who is wreckless and who isn't. If a cop simply tickets the onces that seem the least remorseful he can quickly be giving tickets to exclusively minorities because, they are fed up from past experiences(with racist cops).

I got pulled over last year for doing 10 over. 70K in a 60k zone at 8am in the morning on a dead street. The cop thought he was doing me a favor by reducing it to 5 over....seriously now....i've been driving for 20 years now....thats two decades.....and this idiot with nothing better to do did that to me? I took it to court just because....the judge gave the officer shit for wasting the courts time with bullshit.

It's interesting reading everyones comments about cops. Certainly goes from one end of the spectrum to the other as far as feelings towards cops.

As far as quotas go, I can only speak for my department. We have a motors unit, made up of motorcycle cops thats sole purpose is to enforce traffic laws on the major highways. In a nutshell, their job for 8 hrs is to write tickets. They like to say "We have no quotas, we can right as many as we want". But how it works is if a Sergeant has a team of 10 motor cops and 9 are averaging 20 tickets a day and 1 is averaging 5 tickets a day, he is going to find out why that 1 cop isnt in the ball park of shift averages. I think that makes pretty good sense.

Now our patrol officers, they are so busy running from 911 call to another it is hard to find time to write tickets for violations but they manage to write a couple a day. If a Sergeant sees that one officer hasn't written 1 in 4 days but everyone else is averaging 8 in the same period, he will find out why. So there is no quotas, but knowing what the norm is, anything outside the norm will draw attention.

I've said this before but it is worth repeating. Civilians tend to view all cops the same. The fact is, departments vary widely on training, professionalism, screening, discipline etc etc. Comparing my department ( a little bias here) to a typical sheriff department or small town department in Texas is like comparing high school football players to the NFL. We have resources, pay, retirement, training that puts us at a level where you can and should expect high caliber professional treatment. Every stop is video taped, we have a police monitor and complaint system that is over staffed and anxious to work citizen complaints and we screen a LOT of people before we hire one. So just keep in mind in a lot of places you get what you pay for.

Also, for every youtube or new video you see a cop doing something wrong, there are 100's of thousands of instances where the cops did everything right.

But yeah, I've met jerk cops. Part of the motivation of becoming a cop was because I thought I could do better than the bunch I ran into in the town I grew up in.

My best friend is an LA County Sheriff and is cool (no, not because he's a friend) on the other hand Huntington Beach PD are a bunch primadona dick heads who shoot first and ask questions later. Our little strip of beach community is getting annexed by HB and most of hate it, that means HBPD will be taking over down here (((

Coach, I 've been hearing some rumors of HB wanting to put parking meters along the green-belt(if annexed by HB)....  Have you heard any word on that?
