So I was soaping up my nut sack in the showing when I had an "aha!" eureka momment, but thats another story.

Then later on I had an idea, bodybuilders need to eat less solid food and drink more protein shakes. Now this doesn't apply to precontest, I think it's pretty established that bodybuilders on a diet need to concentrate on solid food. But in the off season when they GROOOOOWW MUUUTATIOOON, maybe it would be better for their midsection it they ate less solid food. Now I'm not talking about some off the shelf MRP, I'm talking a nice home made shake with fucking black forest truffle oil and mother fucking organic almond butter and shit.

No. No thermic benefit like when you eat food. I've done tons of shakes and you don't stay as lean even if its isolate shakes with low cals. You won't gain a bolus of muscle versus consuming the same amount of protein through whole foods either. A couple shakes a day is optimal. This is coming from an idiot who spent a good 20 grand on supplements trying to get big when all I needed was to eat a few hundred calories over maintenance.

I've toiled over protein shakes and liquid diets but two shakes a day fits the bill whether you're dieting, bulking, on drugs, drug free, etc. Only need more shakes if you're on drugs and its for an insulin regimen. Fuck the studies too. Eat whole foods and supplement with a couple shakes a day and leave it at that. I am correct. Only advantage may be to help your shitter et al if you're including fiber and other goodies, but more shakes ain't gonna do any better than one or two. Just a scam. Don't let Dante or anyone else convince you otherwise.


I should have spent all my money on GH instead... fuck I was delusional. Could have bought a house a lot sooner for the dough I pissed away.

Those are all great points dustin, but a larger pro, a super heavy if you will, perhaps would do better with less solid food in the off season. Perhaps it would help keep their huge guts less bloated?

i like your thought process, but i think it comes down to more than just one variable responsible for the distention seen today.

although im sure that the massive amounts of cals eaten would in some way contribute to distention, GH, insulin and especially igf are to blame as well, if not the whole crux of the problem in and of itself.

Someone was pointing out to me that female bodybuilders use shit loads of GH, bery very little or sometimes no slin, and their waistlines are much, much better than the male bodybuilders.

Somehow i dont trust protein powders...I dont know why.

How do i know for sure if i get the exact amount of protein they claim on the "supplement facts"?

How do i know if its not "underdosed" or bad quality protein from cheese factory "leftovers"..? lmao

they only liquid form of protein i drink are liquid eggwhites...just put some sweetener in the shake and it tastes great plus you know you get protein "from the tap".

Just throwing this out there, don't know if it's relevant to the discussion. But women are less sensitive to GH than males and show less IGF-1 elevation to a given dosage of GH. Women also naturally have higher GH levels to begin with. I don't personally know any women on GH but from what I've seen the dosage recommendations are way lower for them, though it should be higher based on the aforementioned. But real world is often different from studies...  8)

Of course fbb's have hormonal profiles of a dozen men so they may respond just the same as men on account of this. Don't know.

I have drank 4 shakes a day for years. It has become almost a mental thing where i can't not do it. There is only so many ways for me to get my protein throughout the day whether it be egg whites, chicken, tuna and turkey breast that i find i need the 4 shakes throughout so im not sucking down even more food. It probably isnt benefiting me more than 2 but i just do it. Plus its cheap CytoSports whey from Costco.

I'm more of a solid food man myself - I've experimented with drinking four or five protein shakes a day, which isn't excessive, but I reduced my solid meals at the same time and I didn't notice any benefits other than the fact that it was more convenient and less time-consuming. I've now increased my solid meals a day and eat two chicken and rice meals a day as well as a red meat meal I have noticed a much more positive difference in my physique - bigger, better quality, and stronger in the gym too.

I train with some serious cats and they all told me what gh has preached for years. I though hard work and an iron will would set me apart but it didn't. Eat big, lift big, do drugs. That's all it takes.

Now I eat a couple times a day, anything I want (I love meat so protein is fine), drink a shake in the morning and evening and I'm around 180lbs at 8% bf or less. I'm not counting calories or training with much direction or thought, just intensity, intuition and having fun because I'm training my father at the moment. Taking minimal test as I'm gonna knock up the wife and thinking how dumb it was pounding dozens of chicken breasts and shakes all the time.

I've had success with liquid diets but I've learned that you don't need a ton of protein. Even the big guys I know eat like regular people but just opt for higher protein meals and keep a tub of protein in the house. Some of these fellas only cycle juice and some are on every drug imaginable.


I do agree that it gives your shitter and GI tract a rest though. I've had a lot of success with intermittent fasting lately so I just eat a couple times a day and my shitter is great. No more shitting twice as many times as I'm eating and no more slamming shakes till I puke. Everything in moderation and consistency... wish I listened to this advice years ago.

While I recommend daily showers I wonder about how you came up with your eureka moment. You need to read the literature and not speculate. Physical processes are not guesswork. All that protein is a waste of money and contributes to the image most have of musclemen being thickheads.

I drank shakes for years and quite honestly I just got very fat off of them. And bloated to boot. I grew faster and stayed leaner on whole foods. Only time I can think of that shakes might work is during or right after a workout that's it.

Its not that hard to do.
Just choose the sweetener of your choice (splenda?)...or whatever sweetener you can buy where you live.
Then, just mix some sweetener with the liquid eggwhites (the ones with the carton)... simple.
The taste it gives you is like drinking milk with a spoon of table sugar.
