Author Topic: explain to me how RUHL is so wide (Read 11421 times)

this guy must be some kind of mutant because even if you were to shrink his delts and take away his muscles, he would still be a freakishly wide human being. somehow his structure was morphed, GROWN WIDER, during his bbing days, i dont understand it. for example; do a most muscular shot, and position your upper arms so they are parallel to each other. chances are, your hands will be almost touching the opposite bicep. but in the case of Ruhl, when his upper arms are parallel, his hands are barely even overlapping each other how is his structure this wide? he really is a superhuman freak.

by means of comparison here is a pic of ronnie, by all accounts an impressive mm. look where his hands and upper arms are in relation to each other...like a normal human.

now look at Ruhl's hands and upper arms in comparison to each other...you could literally fit 2 more heads on either side of his head.

Probably was. Never seem them IRL but people like Ruhl, Dillet, Kovacs, etc has this freak factor that makes them look more shocking than any other bodybuilder. There is just something crazy about them.

case in point. he is in the EXACT SAME POSITION in both these shots...yet look at the relative positions of his hands to his upper arms.

I remember way back when, when he was in those Stenerol or whatever they are called ads with Armin Scholtz (Armin was running on railroad tracks), and then do you remember Ruhl's "belly button baby"?

but hes the closest thing to a real life Hulk-like mutation of the human body we've ever seen. i mean no normal human has a frame that wide, not one.

Ruhl was wide, but I think Gunter, Dillett, and Stubbs were wider...I don't know if they were compared to one another...but I know that Dillett beat Ruhl back in 99 or 2000-2001, I think we give Ruhl more credit than he deserves....A wide dude yes, but lacking in triceps and back detail, and then that fugly hernia that he had to have removed...

Most of the pics we see of Ruhl are by himself or with smaller competitors...Nor do I think he was of the "mutation" kind, he is of the skilled application of SEO a la Flex Wheeler. His delts started having a smoothish watery look to them. There were some backshots of him where one is like "WTF, no striations, just smoothness."

He trained pretty light and he trained with more machines especially the used the Smith machine for chest work...

I was far more impressed with Gunter back when he weighed 290 pounds and had a special invite to the Mr. O.

gotta disagree with you on this stuff...the problem with Ruhl is that he had alot of bad showings; he wasnt as consistent at hitting his peak as alot of the other top guys.

but when hes on he is virtually unbeatable; theres pics of him next to Gunter and he is wider...pics of him next to dennis james and ronnie coleman in the most muscular (2 of the best ever at that shot) and he flat out dwarfs them on width.

also check out the video of him at the 2006 post-olympia Gran Prix where he flat out destroys new Mr.O jay cutler in every side by side shot as well as ronnie coleman yet still placed 3rd behind them

I gotta see the pics of him being wider than a 6'1-6'2 Gunter, and of course he dwarfs Dennis James, Dennis is about 5'8, and Ruhl is 5'11...

and of course he is wider than Jay Cutler as well...problem is with Ruhl...he was never virtually unbeatable...he had no flow, he was a "prettier" version of Paco, and Ruhl's showings showed that. He was there for the "freak factor" a white version of Dillett so to speak...i do think he should have beaten Dillett at the NOC, Dillett was out of condition and they screwed Ruhl over....even Shawn Ray left the building because he agreed with Ruhl winning.

He didnt "trained pretty light and he trained with more machines especially the used the Smith machine for chest work..." he trained VERY heavy but relyed more on machines.

Ruhl is wide, no question but in the MM his lower arms are down much further than most. Every inch below parallel decreases the closeness in relation to each hand. Notice how Ronnie's hands don't touch either? Look how low his lower arms are. Find me a MM where Ruhl's forearms are parallel.
