The Chinese, don't want to fight, because Africa is a damn qagmire, and for a fledgling superpower like China, who does poorly in war with other nations, and has no real Aircraft carriers---carrying personell over to various places in Africa for a "pillaging and plungering" would be too costly---so they bribe, and loan and finesse....

I read that they were going around paying eastern euro farmers for pieces of a crashed US plane to reverse engineer it.  They'll never be a threat to the US militarily, neither could fight the other militarily without destroying each other.  Not necessary anyway, just need to wait till the US is broke then go on their merry way.

 Yeah exactly. They're just doing to same thing that almost all other powerful nations in the past have done. Britian in India, US in South America.

 The war is not being fought with the military now. It's an economic war. A war of power. Espionage and stealing information. Hacking each others computers. Economic expansionism and imperialism. This is where the war is being fought and China is winning it.

Quite true, but one must weigh unknowns against unknowns...and one of those is will the "revolution" spill to other African countries...especially the oil rich ones like Nigeria and Sudan, who have huge muslim populace...and how will this play out...will they then turn a eye towards the Chinese in their countries?  The US was just as dirty as China in the late 1800's, Britain was even worse. But now it's cleaned up.
