6 week layoff, no strength loss
« on: February 01, 2011, 08:37:55 PM »
After a six week layoff, I have no strength loss on most of my lifts. On some lifts, just a very very small loss of strength. I think a layoff like tht once or twice a year is a good thing too do.

Hit your muscles hard for a few months, take a rest for a few weeks. Repeat.

Six weeks is way to long any more than ten days is just a waste.

I'm pumping out some squats right now between posts.

No loss of strength. Still doing 585 pounds for 30 reps.

Jason Ferrugia recommends taking something like 4-6 weeks off each year.  One of the biggest guys at my gym back when I was in college would take something really long, like two months or even more off in the Summer and, not saying he didn't lose anything, but he bounced RIGHT back.

Seems like a lot of older guys who aren't obsessive about their workouts either take long breaks themselves (to little ill effect), or recommend it.

Hi MemberX!
Would you fucks shut the fuck up with this shit. It wouldn't be so bad if we knew who the fuck these guys are but we have no fucking clue. This gimmick paranoia is retarded. Some people just don't take shit as serious as you full timers, this isn't the first message board in existence.

 Exactly.

I came back to getbig about 1 year ago and right when I started posting everyone was whining that i'm a gimmick. I was seriously accused of being like 5 different people. It's overdone.

But I guess a lot of losers here do start gimmicks. So I can see why people are paranoid.

Dude.Unless your name is Derek Anthony you are no 06, sir. I pegged you as a non gimmick, noob, right from the start. The only person who could pull off an insane gimmick like this has a name that rhymes with "stars" and I'm guessing he's too busy with mom for that.
