The USA is where the best MMA fighters fight in the UFC and Strikeforce.  MMA in Japan is dead.

There have been no serious brain or spinal injuries in either the UFC or Strikeforce to my knowledge.  These injuries have happened to NFL players during games.

When i was talking about MMA... What i meant was fights in general...all types.
I forgot to put that for you... My mistake.

Well!! Since we are clear now... Lets look at Muay thai for a minute...do you know how many kids don't turn 15 in Thailand? Most of them die before that.

And this is just Thailand.

Should i continue?

You still didn't show me any graphics about injuries/deaths NFL vs MMA.

Good luck with the other one NFL vs Fights.

I'm not dissing fighting or saying it's not a brutal sport.  I'm disagreeing with you when you say "the NFL is for pussies".

It's brutal sport that can cause severe injuries.

This guy is now paralyzed.

Well!! If you compare NFL with ping pong. Yes

Even skiing has more injuries ,paralyzed people and deaths than NFL.

But if you compare to the real man sport. No... Not even close.

You should come to the top of the food chain.

the 2 sports are different

in rugby there is "resting" in all the stoppages for lineouts, kicks, scrums

in nfl if there werent alloted breaks, no human would cope, its very fast, dynamic

in rugby no high tackling, in nfl they drive right through the player, they need protection

much like rugby would suffer(mobility/skillwise) from padding, so would nfl suffer from no padding (2-3deaths per match plus disabilities)

also NFL players are on mega steroids and the game involved catch wher eu can be up in air and hit by guy speeding other way unlike rugby whihc is all running

some rugby players are huge n roided out but they neem not as extrme bodyweight as NFL players

also the more dynamic shuffle passing styel doesnt lend to all out hits at full speed both going in other direction as much

rugby tackles ar eliek 10 foot run then grab not 10 yar ful speed smash

if they had no helmets or padding..... There wouldnt be many huge hits in nfl. The reason why the collisions are wild because they know they will be safe

rugby union needs to do away with penalty kicks 3 points and the stupid kicking to get out of there territory

rugby league>rugby union

faster, bigger hits, no stupid penaltys, 6 plays each, many opt for 5 runs(hitups) then a kick to either score a try or get field position. Then the ball is tuned over to the opposing side

This topic bounces around so often it's getting ridiculous.

I enjoy both sports. Rugby is brutal, so is football(i'm not a yank, but i'll call it that for the sake of this thread), less dangerous thanks to the pads, but still dangerous.

I view football as a very tactical game (maybe overly), you can't say it's not.

I know which i'd feel safer playing. Facing a mid-sized guy say 6'4" 270lbs coming straight at me. Would i rather have a virtual suit of armour on that i know offers a good degree of protection, or just a gumshield. Hmmm

The NCAA, which overseas college sports in America was specifically founded to put rules in place for college football....the reason?  There were too many deaths and serious injuries.  Look it up.

Yeah,  but do rugby players  celebrate a tackle even when they are losing by 20 points?

Yeah that's what I thought ::)

BS!  Rugby became sandlot in the states.  Equipment came from the abrasions.  Every kid in the states whoever played organized ball  got f@@ked up on the weekends playing sandlot.
The difference is in the NFL you have 300lb roided up line backers charging at you full speed.

Football would probably be safer if they didn't wear pads or helmets.  Then players would refrain from
slamming in to each other at full speed.

Does not matter how hard you hit. Trip a guy up and if he falls badly on his neck he is a vegetable. Both sports are different.

People get hurt in rugby and NFL

No man I know all about the different plays and strategies. There is SOME strategy to the NFL. But not much.

NFL is like checkers, while games like soccer and baseball are like chess.
YEA THROW BALL HIT BALL CATCH BALL RUN BASES REAL CHESS GAME THERE ::)

I think once again the "football in pads is for pussies" crowd should post a photo of themselves playing in a football game, just to make their statements valid because they'd have a legitimate point.

I get a feeling this won't happen, as it's often the same crowd that's afraid of vagina.
