 Well, there is a strategy to almost anything in life. Even the simplest things. The question is what depth the game has. And I think the NFL does not have much depth compared to other sports. It's very simple and fast. Less variables than other games.

Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione are former NFL players.  Brock Lesnar tried out but was cut by the Vikings.

The USA is where the best MMA fighters fight in the UFC and Strikeforce.  MMA in Japan is dead.

There have been no serious brain or spinal injuries in either the UFC or Strikeforce to my knowledge.  These injuries have happened to NFL players during games.
