I use to recommend not buying these types of expensive (discretionary) items..However, with dollar devaluation eminent it doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Sad that people make such a big deal over a 2010 Bentley Continental GT Supersports (sorry not Super Speed), and saying that he is is wasting his money...if dude was really wasting his money, he would have gotten rid of his Lincoln LS, after he first won the Colorado Pro---his first contest...
Dude, has a level head on his shoulders, takes financial advice from Jay, who is good with his money. Phil is no Flex Wheeler, who at the same age was blowing his money on Rolexes, Mercedes Benz SLs, etc.
I call this as people on here being jealous...because they on one hand criticized bbers for being broke, and when they see one of the top bbers having something they don't have---they hate...because it puts what they haven't achieved under a bigger microscope...

And you never here a cross word out of Phil's mouth neither, he keeps grinding, so at least allow the man to enjoy some of winnings and give himself a gift...

parker....what's your real problem with evan?  is it because he shops daily at whole foods, the farmers' veggie fair and the fresh fish market and you're usually in the discount  and 2 for 1 isles at krogers?  ;D

Hey, I go to freshfoods as well.

I just don't think Evan is what people make him out to be...I do endorse what Melvin Anthony had said, "if you are not ready to do battle in Pros once you get your Pro card, then you shouldn't compete. Forget that wait a yr or or two"...
Now, the NPCs are diff than The Brits and the 80s was a diff era, so forget the Dorian comparisons.

Evan comes from a long line of overhyped bbers, who happen to be white: Chris Cook, Alex Federov, Dennis Wolf, Aaron Maddron, etc. Now, whether it's on purpose or not, it seems like these guys get this hype of being the next, without really being put to the test. Now, I do agree that they can sell mags, and are better for marketing than there darker counterparts, I just don't agree that giving them all the hype in the world without really being tested is good. Look what happened to Chris Cook, Aaron Maddron, and Alex Federov (who was pushed to topple Ronnie and Jay, when it was the other way around), and Dennis Wolf, who has never lived up to his hype.

Phil Heath didn't really have that much hype after he won his Pro card, it was only after he won his first 2 Pro shows in a row that he did. And then his famous Flex Mag spread...

I will give Evan this, he has a great set of arms and legs, a decent back, but I don't see the hype. But, I would place him over Melvin Anthony, Bill Wilmore, Troy Alves, Dennis James (if he competed), Dennis Wolf,  Marcus Ruhl, Hide, and possibly Silvio...possibly.

average GBer...0/ yr. as they're living off Raman noodles and Kraft mac and cheese.

Math isn't your strong suit... :o

LOL...ok, toughguy....well we'll wait for you to conduct a poll on what the "actual" average is...should be no problem since 99% of them are anonymous...

Silly me..I just figured the general idea would suffice to get the point accross.

Knock yourself out, champ...we'll be waiting for the actual numbers

parker your a cool personality on here and i like you,

but your judgment is being very clouded by your racism. i know that you'll immediately deny that  over and over but we have seen this white versus black bbers over and over from you. its hurting you and how to see things in bodybuilding. but whatever, your 160lbs and never even practiced it yourself  so i dont know why i care about waking you up.

oh well it is what it is .

Yeah Melvin was always a guy with ridiculous shape but would just disappear some years and would straight up say that he didn't have the financial backing to compete which makes sense.

As far as Phil's car, its on point and I'm thinking between him and his wife that they have the money to afford it. Besides, who goes and buys a car like this outright when you can afford to lease it. This way when the time comes you can trade it in for a new model a few years later.

He has been making money from contracts since he turned pro. I don't think its an issue of money for him at this point to lease a 200K-300K car. He'll keep getting solid placing and making money from muscletech to afford a lease. Have you seen his house???

The only way to not loose money on cars is to obtain a dealers license and buy all used cars maybe 4 to 5 years old, depending on your taste.  Then you can drive each car of your liking for 2 to 3 months then sell it for a profit.  If your smart it can be a good gig.  Idiots need not apply.  Obviously you need enough cash to support this.  There are people who operate wholesale car businesses on credit, but you better be sharp or you'll lose your ass quickly.

Do you know how many Nigerians in my area have a "dealers license"? They have lots full of broke down, or older cars, that they ship to Nigeria...

and?  Where I come from the Arabic people where shipping caprice classics to their countries.  It's about making money.  What I was saying is that you could buy some exspensive cars, if you have the cash.  If you don't know the wholesale business it doesn't matter, and I'm not black if black bothers you, I'm Italian.

i love cars but i don't understand guys that get some money and guy these exotic ones. you drive it off the lot and you lose 5k. why not put that cash into a mutual fund for retirement. then when you are extremely wealthy then buy the car. bbing is not going to last forever for phil

That's not true because a dealer's license costs around $500 a month ...plus you need to have a storefront with a parking lot for atleast a few cars (in Illinois it's this way...my buddy is a car wholesaler)

So in 2-3 months you're looking at $1000 to $1500 to drive a car...plus the money to pay on your store lease.  That's money lost son.

Lot of haters in this thread.

A car is not an investment. You have to be a complete fucktard not to know this...it's like the smokers who get cancer who sue tobacco companies.

My man you are right that's why you sell at least 20 cars a month from the store front also.  I'm retired from this game.
