Coffee Drinkers
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:35:02 PM »
I'm going to try to start drinking coffee to help keep me awake and allow me to get more studying done. However I never drink coffee and there are an ungodly amount of options to choose from at the coffee shop. Keep in mind that I had gall bladder surgery not long ago so I'm trying to cut down on the fatty stuff (so I probably wont get anything that is loaded with fatty cream or anything).

(Translation: I want to start meeting girls at the coffee shop while I'm writing my next big screenplay on my laptop)-  ;D

What do you coffee drinkers recommend?

I hope that this thread remains on the main boards a couple of days before being moved to the nutritional board. My threads never get many replies so this is probably the only way anyone will see it.

You might want to consider this:  http://www.domatcha.com/health/

I've been drinking this insted of coffee in the morning and I noticed a feeling of calmness and alertness which is distinctly different from coffee

DōMatcha™ may:
- Raise your energy level for up to 8 hours with no negative side effects
- Induce a state of relaxation and calm mental alertness
- Boost metabolism by up to 40% in regular consumers and help control body weight
- Contain up to 137 times more of the potent antioxidant EGCG than steeped green tea
- Help regulate healthy blood sugar levels
- Support healthy cholesterol levels within a normal range
- Act as a strong blood detoxifier and alkalizer
- Support healthy teeth and gums

if going to a shop, get a "cafe americano",,, sounds gay, but its hot water with expresso, tastes really good.

to the above poster, coffee has a ton of health benefits!!!  its not for old people, douche.
you are gay.

Dr. Oz has talked about Matcha green tea on his show.  It's supposed to be a great anti-oxidant and 'cancer fighter'

There's absolutely no need to waste your money on expensive matcha, just buy normal green tea.

Matcha is first grade tea leaves, that is right, but it's grated tea leaves for tea ceremony, just buy normal green tea, especially if you plan to drink more than just a small cup each day.

Supposedly it's like 10x more potent than regular green tea.  Something like 1/2 teaspoon a day provides more antioxidants than 10 cups of brewed green tea.

I doubt it, and IF it was like that, then you could buy a cheap ECGC supplement and stack some caffeine to it, you would have a good effect as well, at a much cheaper base.

For me, i like green tea. In the winter, i drink a lot of coffee and some green tea, but in the summer i drink at least 2l of green tea a day. It's cheap and healthy, there's no need to spend so much money on something as Matcha, which is a luxury item in Japan.

I recommend espressos for best flavour, there are machines to make expresso at home.

But since you probably want to make it easy for you, regular coffee maker and any sort will do. Not that much difference between blends IMO. But I do prefer darker blends since they're taste bolder/stronger.

Instant coffee I feel taste too synthetic and watery.

I only drink expresso, only way to go for me.

I made a double expresso for my friend and he said; "Damn this shit gives powah! You don't need drugs, you just have to drink this mans expresso!"
