the above lot wouldve wiped the floor with the state level competitor you pictured. conditioning, he had the edge on them, and they couldve come in drier, in 84 there was no need to go crazy on the lasix, but when the need arose, the guys came in drier, when the guys got bigger, beckles, robinson, bannout(he came in soft few times), haney got bigger. In other words, if the above mentioned guys in 84 were competing today, their shape, structure, balance alone wouldve blown your guy away, never mind the condition or size they wouldve brought to match the game. Same goes for the guys like Oliva and Dickerson, coe, etc that were already past their prime in 84.
remember, these competitors were a better gene pool than todays guys, should they have been round today, they would still be the elite.
