Hello everyone, I am back from a very serious sinus/ear infection.  All the private messages (over 200) and get well cards really touched my heart.  It  shows that what I'm doing on here is getting somewhere and not falling on deaf ears.  There are still many malcontents and dissidents that need much behavioral modifications but I really do feel GetBig is making very great strides in the right direction.  These few people need to take a personal inventory of themselves and ask the question "why does my negative behavior on a bodybuilding board empower me"?

So many of you asked what has Fallsview been up to?  Well here are a few things that kept me busy:

Took in a Red Wings/Sabres game.  I admire Detroits passing game.

Went to two concerts:  Eric Church and Dropkick Murphys.

Went to an education conference in NYC which was quite splendid and enlightening!  Can't wait for the one in California in a few months.

Parent/teacher conferences that went very well.

Took out my Canon Mark III, alien bees/interfits, beauty dish, 9ft seamless paper and hired a beautiful model off of model mayhem and found some time to enjoy an old hobby.

Tried to get ahold of a very good friend named Fathi Krishi and discuss what is going on in Libya.  (Bodybuiding related:  Roy and Chick should be familiar with him)

Tried getting ahold of my friend Chris Lee.  He's down in Florida and even his own family hasn't talked to him.(Bodybuilding related because he works out in Williamsville Golds Gym)

Ran the entire island of Grand Island NY, then because of the warm weather we've been having (reminds me of a crisp night in Fullerton)  tried to swim to Navy Island and this  is how I contacted my illness.

So there you have it!  It's good to be back (I will be out of town this Friday-Sunday)  But I will be back Sunday night (PST) It feels very gratifying to have such a warm welcome.  I come back with much pleasure and anticipation with the promise of a productive, exciting rewarding time here on GetBig.

And for the line that echos throughtout this forum...

Love the Mark III (It's not the 21mp it's the 10) but I'm really looking into getting a 7D for the HD video. Just picked up the 24mm-70mm lens.  Love it even though it's as heavy as a brick.

damn im stupid, somehow i tought you meant the 5d mark 3. im thinking about getting a mark 3 now that the prices have fallen, or a mark 1ds mark 2. wich one do you think is the better when it comes to pic quality in low isos? i have a 50d now and a 70-200 f4, next lens will be the 100-400. which wide angel lens would you recomend, it must be a EF so i can use it the day i upgrade to a 1d or 5d camera

1D Mark III is what I have.  The 5D is a very good camera.  I would concentrate on glass since it holds it's value and in a few years upgrade.  Canon has a great trade in feature.  For a wide angle I like the Canon 24-105mm.  You can find some wide angle Tamron and Sigma but I always stick with Canon, just my personal preference.  I like shooting with the nifty fifty.  Nice all around lens.  Just started doing some landscapes.  Picked up Topaz adjust and photomatix for some extreme adjustments and HDR.  This hobby can get more and more expensive.

well its not a cheap hobby, but worth all the money. thing i like with canon is that they have a nice line of tele primes and zooms in the l series that dont cost a fortune, like the 400 5.6 etc. my friend has a nikon d3s and bought the 300 2.8 the same time.like 6k dollars the lens only. but it is so heavy that he only have used it 2 times the 6 months he have had it...epic bad spent money lol

I agree, I have a 300mm f/4-5 lens.  Not the fastest but does a nice job when I shoot wildlife.  That lens I think cost me 150.00.  Now I just picked up the 70mm f/2.8 lens.  Very fast lens so I can keep my iso low when I shoot at hockey games which is a real pain for white balance lol.  That lens cost me 1300 but it has a little bit of a zoom and I can use it to shoot portraits also.  With sharpness though, I can see a very big difference.  I don't have to put my images through a high pass sharpening filter and use noise ninja. It saves alot of time.

Im happy I have the camera equipment because the money I make doing photos for people I save for my daughter.  It also saves me a ton of money since I don't take my daughter to get photos taken which can run up into the hundreds of dollars.
