How do you know his intentions?
Have you ever had a conversation with him where he sat down with you and detailed his intentions on enlisting??
I really hope you're not serious.
i went back last night and tried to find the comments from pegg that i was talking about. i couldnt find them, and actually after going through his posts he seems like an alright guy and he had a sense of humor about the whole thing. so i take back my comments in regards to pegg specifically. but i do recall someone on this forum, i thought it was pegg, who was an iraq/afgan veteran and was talking about how many 'ragheads' he had shot down and making light of the whole thing. thats the kind of sentiment i was refering to. and most of the guys who enlist at 18-20 years old are doing so first and foremost because they cant get a decent job anywhere else (which is nothing to be ashamed of), and secondly because they want to go play shoot em up and kill people
Funny how you throw religion into this when you're losing a debate. Read the bible bro. We are defending ourselves. Should we not even have a military tbombz? Should we all just be a country of pacifists and not defend when attacted or people wanting to attack?
"you have heard it said, en eye for an eye. but i tell you that if someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him as well, for our heavenly father who is perfect sheds light on both the good and evil, rains down on both the good and bad. "
^^^ words of jesus coach. according to the bible, and according to a man of sincere faith in the lord, you should not seek revenge but even give those who would wrong you more of an oppurtunity to do so. god wants as many people as possible to come into his light, and that means that when you come across a misguided soul you do not punish it, you show it the way of god, show it unconditional love even in the face of trreacherous evil, show it that you have no fear of death because you know the lord above is almighty and benevolent, and you want to show the evildoer the power of righteousness.
the military is not supported by god. although as long as it is used properly, self defense, protection of human rights only, then god would not view its existence/operation as a wrong doing or immorality.
