Arnold Classic - Branch's win re Ifbb judging (serious discussion)

i have nothing against branch i like branch .. i dont care about his face im not a woman so i couldnt know how to juge that
but .. im sorry wolf was in good condition too and his structure really makes branch looks bad... his combination of symmetry size and shape should have trumped branched size mass... branches phsyque is out of whack

A lot of people would say that Flex and Shawn should ha>e ne>er lost to Doz or Ronnie. And size and condition shouldn't trump all. The best combination of ALL aspects should win. And Branch is a much bigger mess than Ronnie on his worst day...

was no mess.... when he got really bigger he started to look ridiculous
but was still head and shoulders above everyone else
small joints rount muscles and v taper
hard vascular and build
you can see ronnies head then neck then traps then delts etc
branch looks all built into one...
out of whack too short too much size...
and small arms

Ok.... thats 2009 though not 2011. Usually when they have a bodybuilding contest they judge the appearance from the current time.

they should award guys like Centopani who has a physique you wouldn't mind having.

220 lb Ronnie isn't beating 220 llb Ray or flex, they just have better shape and lines. Which is the point, where is the cutoff?

Mixture of all is what people say but all things being equal people would have to push the mass. It's a fucked up criteria, simple as.

Yup, Ronnie '98 and '99 was it. Too bad he couldn't keep refining that. 2003 he was a freak, but '98 was best. Again, these guys are forced to fuck up their physiques to comply with the "standard". E>en Branch looked much better after he won the nationals and just turned pro. But more and more drugs and hea>ier and hea>ier training just caused bloat and muscle tears which brings us to the fucked up >ersion he displays today. Fucking shame that that shit gets rewarded...

I agree "it's not about black or white at all" - I mean, seriously, we all miss Ronnie Coleman no matter who we are. Flex Wheeler was a badass bodybuilder (to look at)- his personality, communication skills and attitude sucked ass, but that's not what they were judging on, was it?


Black bodybuilders have a definite genetic advantage over your typical "white man's" structure. That's a fact. Any pure-blooded bodybuilder (or wannabe bodybuilder) wants to see a freak. Don't matter how racist you are.


It is what it is. Black men dominate the "O" and they have for some time now, and I assume they always will.
