Gassing out in a fight is one of the worst things possible. Happened to me once against 5 young pork chops behind a bar when I was seriously bulked up and had 0 cardio and a big mouth while drunk. Must of swung and missed a dozen power punches, only hit one guy square in the Chiclets and got a disgusting saliva infested scar for my efforts.
Thats just the beginning of the story but the point is I gassed out bad and I still regret it every single day make sure it doesn't happen again. Fighting multiple opponents takes just that much more cardio than a 1 on 1, especially in a big parking lot where I couldn't get close to any of the chicken shits and wasted alot of my gas via blurred barnyard hey makers. I could have gotten hurt alot worse than I did too I just got real lucky.
Bottom line is stay the f#ck away from brawls all together.
This is so, so true. Gassing during a fight is the worse, sickest feeling you can have. It turns the toughest, badest, son of a bitch into a pathetic pussy without an ounce of will power. No matter how big your muscles and how impressive you look without a shirt on all of that will be absolutely worthless, and more likely a hindrance, when you're gassed.
During UFC 17 Mark Coleman, who had a huge size advantage over Pete Williams, and was dominating Williams during most of the fight. Ground and pounding like there was no tomorrow. If that fight was held today it would have been stopped early on. Not in those days. Williams weathered the storm and was essentially comparatively fresh since he was lying on his back most of the time covering up as he was getting pounded on. Coleman on the other hand was exhausted. Completely spent. Look at him with his hands down doubled over gasping for air. He had nothing left and couldn't defend himself no matter how big his muscles were and how much stronger he was than Williams.
