I saw them feeding this morning. The older/stronger one seems like a bully, pecking on the other one and taking all the food. Mom make no attempt to go out of her way to feed the other one I was reading that is common among babies, especially if the first hatched is a female. Fratricide is fairly common. Don't know if I'll be able to continue to watch if that happens.
Has anyone tried to get on the "chat"?
I wasn't going to view after reading this but thought I'd take a peek and they are feeding. I thought since I only saw two that the third was dead but realize it's still an egg No. If you go in there maybe the people will say that both babies are doing well and you can tell us. And if they say only one is doing well you can still tell us they are both fine
If I'm ever able to get into the dang room I was wondering if anyone else was able to get in?
Open the door ditzy!
OMG There's a snake in the nest. And it's still moving
Dad has everything under control while mom slacks off.
Dad almost knocked one of the babies out of the next the other day. It was a very tenuous situation for quite awhile.Damit! He just did it again Clumsy ox. He better fix this before mom gets home.
Dad is old school ....showin a little tough love....life ain't easy on the mean streets of Ohio
'cept these are the angelic streets of Iowa
How big is the nest?5-6 feet across, about the same deep; it weighs about 1½ tons.
holy crap w8, those nests are hugeeeeeeee
They are strong birds to tote those big branches and build a nest that large ... I watched for about an hour but saw no movements at all so I'm clueless on whether they were occupied or not .. I was hoping to see an eagle
I'm sure it was the male birds that did all the heavy work...
I'm sure it took awhile too ... having to stop and look at it every time they added a stick and pat themself on the back
Sure......while the broadbird is like "move that stick over here....wait,wait no,over here....what do you think if we put it here"
fixed LOL
