Douchbag marathon runners, desperate for compliments
« on: March 14, 2011, 11:15:49 PM »
I've got 2 marathon runners on my facebook. One male one female.

They are always talking about their marathon runs, trying to sound humble, but you can tell they are fishing for attention.

Then of course all their friends say "Oh you're so amazing." "Keep it up, you're an inspiration." " Wow that is so impressive".......

Whatever. These people are just fucking running. And most of them are probably only doing it for the attention whoring aspect and the compliments they get from others.

I'm sure some marathon runners are cool. Almost all the one's I meet are douches though. Doing it just for bragging rights.

Honestly, running a marathon is incredibly hard. They should brag if they want. I'd need one of those tin foil blankets and a med flight after running 5 miles.

I don't think I'd be able to run a mile without stopping to gasp for air.

This brings up an interesting point. How much running of training of any kind is too much? Yes of course, some training is good, coz if it is done correctly then it will improve one's level of condition and health. But if it is not done correctly, or even worse if it is overdone, it won't lead to an improved level of health, looks, and/or condition. Dr. Ken Cooper of The Aerobic Institute in Dallas used to say "Train, train, and train even more" or something to this effect. But a few years back he recanted this statement and said something like this, "Anyone who trains for more than 1 hour weekly isn't training for health and fitness purposes"

If someone actually runs a marathon in a decent time and wants to boast about on Facebook or whatever then great, knock yourself out that's pretty impressive.  What I can't stand are the people that post their mundane workouts nearly every day.  "Just ran three miles to the gym!"  Big fucking deal.

why are you such a douchemaster?  you're always on here spewing your shit.  "3 kit kats a week, 4 pushups, and 1 mile of running a year is optimal for getting ripped".

no it isn't asshole.  why don't you post a pic of your achievements?
