thats pretty coool. though the similarity is only in design, not in the manner of construction. neurons dont pop into exist and expand outwards. but the basic structure is like the exact same. very cool.

you want some stuff to research, start with bishop george berkeley.

It just shows us how recursive the Universe is; the infini small and the infini large coexist and are re-entrant.. often contained within each other

yes. exactly. infinite complexity. infinitely divisible and infinite in potential. but impossible to be expressed in finite terms. but yet finite things do exist. how?

Sory but the universe is not infinitely big or infinitely divisible.

We do not know of anything beyond the universe, or of any particles smaller than the elementary particles (quarks, electrons, etc.)

if anything exists at all, then by definition it must be infinitely divisible.

thats not up for discussion.

and on the issue of infinite size, i said infinite potential.

its not true: whose definition? on what basis do you make that statement? what is a 'thing' anyway?

these questions have been illuminated plenty by science for us to conjecture with philosophical nonsense.

if something exists, it can be measured or verified in some way. if there is something there at all, it takes up a finite amount of space.  whatever it is, will have a length(a size), and a mass. anything that has size or mass can be rboken in half. and then broken in half. and broken in half again. to infinite. and as long as there was something there to begin with, you will never reach a point where you dont have any more material to break in half, you will always be able to break it into smaller and smaller pieces.

Maybe in an abstract manner you can but physically there is nothing smaller than an elementary particle.

An elementary particle is not made up of anything else. And it is not even as simple as that, particles on this level act both as waves and physical particles with mass. All intuition and concept of physical reality breaks down; all we are left with is quantum mechanics which very few people understand.

actually roger penrose recently (5ish years) postulated (along with others) that we live in an "open" universe..which..because of dark energy (which makes up most of the universe) is speeding up the expansion of the universe...eventually  will destroy all matter ..because everything will be stretched soo far apart that all that will remain are photons..which will eventually lad to another big bang in another universe!
