So what is wrong with the people out here who have decided to go into every store, and start buying up all the potassium iodide pills they have.  One store sold 72 bottles in 2 days, the other 28 bottles.

And people are calling asking for more.

Can someone explain to them that we live in California, and that you dont need to store up potassium iodide pills unless you want to send them to Japan.

And they are getting a ton of these pills being delivered at the moment.

Can someone also explain to them that unless there is an immenent threat of radioactive exposure, it is useless.

Ron,

You're missing the point moreh.

What happens when there is a looming drought in the near future?  Smart men stack up on all the bottled water available to the public.  Why?  Because those same smart men can then turn an amazing profit once things do go sour and they sell the water at 100 times the original cost.

What happens if the drought never arrives?  Those same smart men can still sell the water at 25-50 times the original cost, just based on the looming fear of a drought that might never come.

What is so hard to understand here Yaroni?  You've been around the supplement industry for decades now.  You've seen countless, hopeless young men purchasing snakeoil that will never make them look anything remotely like those bodybuilders that advertise these products.  Why would these morons stack up on bottles worth of these water pills expecting anything different than what they have already experienced all their lives?  For the same reason why these Californians would stack up on anti-radiation pills, the hope that they can do something ahead of time that would place them ahead of the rest.

Yes, I agree - but these pills only last a year or so.  Maybe playing the lottery might be better in terms of an 'investment'.
