honestly, depends in NY. If they are in Long Island, especially montauk, it makes a lot of sense because their is a nuke plant right across the LI sound

no, it's been there for years, long before I moved into the area. I keep them on hand in the house and every summer get new ones. It was something that was explained to me when I moved into the area. Anyone in prek, day care or the school system has to sign an acknowledgement wether to have the iodide given if anything should happen
