Newmom, Wes, Thanks. We stood by and watched a good friend degenerate from a front cover muscle-head on a couple of Weider publications to a drug induced runt who ended up in prison with a four year jail sentence.
Apparently that got him back on the right track because he has cleaned up his act and is once again competing.
But he took me aside one time and told me to never trust him when it came to drugs... "Once one, always one!".. He said.
And he never was in the Corps!
Doing well though. So far!
I was, and it didnt make any difference.
Addiction is very powerful, Newmom and Wes are on point.
Some people can use recreationally, some cant. I cant. Any time I touch the harder stuff, my life turns to shit. Its not a matter of willpower, pride, ego, anything like that... People who arent addicts cannot comprehend what it is like to be an alcoholic/addict, they simply cannot fathom not having the ability to say "no", but thats precisely what happens.. you lose the ability to make rational decisions, and say no. Your willpower turns against you. Its surreal.
