Rudy: Time to bury the birthers
« on: March 19, 2011, 06:01:43 AM »
MANCHESTER, N.H. — A day after Donald Trump raised questions about President Barack Obama’s citizenship, Rudy Giuliani on Friday swatted down the "birthers" as a waste of time, saying it's "clear" the president was born in America.

The former New York City mayor — making his first trip to New Hampshire of the 2012 presidential cycle as he weighs another run for the White House — made the comments to POLITICO just before he spoke at the Manchester GOP Lincoln Day dinner here.

"He's born in the United States, I don't see any real question about that," Giuliani said. "And even if some people have some doubts in the back of their minds it's really too late and futile. ... We have so many more important things to talk about."

Trump, who is also considering a campaign for president, waded into the "birther" debate on Thursday by suggesting he himself has doubts about the president's citizenship and that “no one” knew Obama when he was growing up.

The president on Thursday made light of the lingering controversy by making a joke about it, the second time he has done so this month after a long period of remaining silent on the topic.

Trump would steam roll obama if he gets the nod.

It would not even be funny if there wasa debate between those two.

Most primary voters are going to be birthers.

and most general election voters are not.

Even though they are 100% correct,. it doesn't matter.  The 911 victims families who want another investigation are 100% correct too - but that doesn't matter either.  Media paints them as CT frings, and dipshits like beach Bum will scream "tinfoil!!!" 24/7.  it's jsut how it is.

Why does this kid repeatedly invoke my name?  lol . . . .   You kids who believe the government shot a missile into the Pentagon are not very smart.  Or extremely naive.  Or very immature.  Or crazy.  Or some combination.  Take your pick.

you can deny it all you want, but the "birthers" actually have some legit points.

have you even looked at them, BB?  Or did you just decide they're loony because MSLSD told you do?

The birthers do not have a point.  Something like this will make Republicans look like fools.  There is a reason why legitimate candidates don't raise stupid stuff like this and that 9/11 craziness.

Let me go out on a limb and say the Republican nominee will not make this a central, or even a minor issue in the 2012 campaign.

The only strange thing I've seen is Obama spending so much money on this stuff instead of just releasing his BC, or acknowledging that it's lost, etc.  This is a loser for Republicans.  If they try and make this an issue they will marginalize themselves and lose a lot of voters.

I dunno, comrade.  They are going to be asked the question repeatedly.  Most of the top names have "gone there" already.

Huck has made it an issue.  Repeatedly.  Can't stop talking about it.

Trump has made it an issue.  This week.

Bachmann said: ""I'll tell you one thing, if I was ever to run for President of the United States, I think the first thing I would do in the first debate is offer my birth certificate, so we can get that off the table."

Newt said obama has Kenyan anti-colonial views.

T-Paw distanced himself initially, then dined with a birther bill NH Sponsor this week and made a wisecrack about it.

Palin: Obama birth certificate 'a fair question' in Dec of 2009, then backtracked the next day.

That's a distortion.  Taken out of context, etc.  Trump is the only birther, and he's not even a viable candidate.  He will not be the Republican nominee.  The actual nominee will not make this an issue.  That will be one of the ways they win the nomination (by exercising good judgment, focusing on real issues).

Please show where each of these is "distorted"?

Isnt it odd that someone could pay $10 dollars and release something but instead chooses to spend MILLIONS to keep it hidden?

Are you kidding?  You just make stuff, take it out of context, and then ask me to fix it for you?  Ah, no.

Yes.

On the other hand, he could be just playing birthers by letting them run down rabbit trails.

The newspaper articles from 10 years ago that said he was kenyan born.

They don't just "get that wrong", you know?

The SS numbers, etc as well.  And the interview with grams.

But the articles (and the fact they've been scrubbed from many websites LMAO.....)

It's the deletion of things that always raises an eye for me.  Why would anyone delete a 10 year old newspaper article?

Like Rudy said, it's probably too late and futile.  But anyone who says it's BS but hasn't looked at the evidence, well, they can suck one.

You can claim it all you want, but the birthers don't have any legit points.  Or is your desicion based on what you read on the internet?  ::)

The ONLY people who have any right or concern when it comes to Obama's birth certificate is the people in personnel.  Barring that, it's nobody elses business what the fuck that paper says.

If you want to claim the government's personnel department (I'm guessing maybe GSA handles the White House's personnel) is engaged in a huge conspiracy and cover-up, then why don't you put up some facts.

Start with who, how, and why.
