I think we are slowly eliminating any evidence of that shady org for good. Fixed fights powered by the Yakuza are s shit-stain on the legitimacy of the current sport of MMA. The farther we are from the "old days" of PRIDE, the better off the sport will be.

Jones doesn't even look like he was in a fight at the press-conference. Shogun was embarrassed last night. What nerve he had claiming that Jones was showing no respect before the fight.

Shogun beat the UFC light-heavyweight champ, Lyoto Machida, twice, so if he sucks it just means the UFC had as a light-heavyweight champ a guy who was even worse. So:

PRIDE > UFC

As for Jones, the fact he beat Shogun easily is not testament that PRIDE sucked; it's testament to how good Jones is. Again, Shogun had no problem mauling all UFC light-heavyweight competitors to win the UFC light-heavyweight title.

Mindless can't come to grips with the fact that he doesn't know jack shit about MMA and that nobody on this board respects his opinion. Hating on PRIDE doesn't make you seem more intelligent or knowledgeable-- especially when you have to sign in with your gimmick to "prove" to everyone that someone agrees with you about something. Nobody here gets a check in the mail when a former fighter from PRIDE wins a fight-- none of us give a shit or take it personally. My hopes and dreams are a lot bigger and more important than "proving" that MMA fighters from an organization that doesn't exist anymore are the best.

Earl, why do you think Shogun lost last night?

Not really sure why everyone challenges what org is better. Bottom line is the UFC 5-10 years from now will have better fighters than it does today. The sport is young and training and technique etc, will evolve further.

Irrelevant. The bottom line is that, when both promotions were around, PRIDE had the best fighters. The evidence? PRIDE fighters beat UFC fighters when they fought far more often than not. I will never forget Chucky getting demolished by Rampage or former UFC legend, Mark Coleman, getting mauled by Fedor twice. Lololololol

i don't know, maybe the long layoff hurt or maybe jones is just better

it's not just the fighters, pride put on a much better show with more fights and better presentation

the fans didn't act like pro wrestling fans, and bas rutten craps all over joe rogan as an announcer

IMO, if you watched the way Shogun trains, he really is outdated pushing up weights on a smith machine, etc....why?

He is still top of the food chain, but the sport is passing him by like many other greats.

There was a time when Pride had better fighters. And if you're into the whole fake wrestling thing with fixed fights and fighter narratives, then I can see why you would have liked Pride better. That's not the argument though. All of you Pride ball lickers feel like you're superior to anyone who is a new fan of the sport. And when have you ever "watched" the way Shogun trains beyond a clip or two on youtube? Up until yesterday he was the best in the world at 205. Is Ryan Bader's method of training outdated as well? How about Brandon Vera's or anybody else Jones has beaten thus far? Seriously, the more you respond the dumber you look.

Ok. Enlighten me. Where have you seen Shogun train in person and then explain to me how Ryan Bader, Brandon Vera, or any other strictly UFC product that Jones has dismantled trains in an "outdated" manner and why that affected the outcome of their fight with Jones.

I made a friendly bet with Coltrane that I knew I would probably lose. I'm not bothered by Shogun losing. What annoys me is your typically idiotic response to the fight and the fact that you switch names back and forth to respond to other people on here so it looks like you have support for your opinions.
