doin deads and pullups?
Im getting some PMs asking about how I train back, this is how it goes:
I do the regular back routine (as far as exercises goes), a once a week training of 3 or 4 exercises, depending on how many heavy sets I plan to do, reps ranging from 12 to 6 per set. I change the exercises each 4 to 7 weeks.
Something that I feel really gave me some edge and shaked things a bit is doing barbell rows the dorian way (less inclined, you can check him teaching how to do it at
http://mdtv.musculardevelopment.com/contests/2010-arnold-classic/2723-road-to-the-arnold-kai-greene-trains-back-with-dorian-yates-part-two.html)
Another detail that makes the difference in back training is holding/concentrating the movement for 0.5-1 sec when your lats are fully contracted. You are going to need a spotter for this when doing the heaby sets but its totally worth it.
Push ups... I only do push ups if I am traveling and cant get to a gym, feel a lot of chest and tris doing them, If I change angles I can feel the back too.
About dead lifts, actually I never did this exercise. I have a small stretching problem in my hamstrings since I was a kid that I have to fix before trying them, but its definetly an exercise that I will do hard in the future.
