Bachmann is night/day opposite of Palin. It's important to understand that.
On the family level,
Bachmann has 23 adopted children, and takes great care of them.
Palin's kids get preggo, post drunken pics on myspace, and have live-in boyfriends at age 16 that mom never notices.
Advantage: Bachmann.
On dealing with the media,
Bachmann: Goes on MSNBC all the time, and trades blows with the hosts. She's quick as a whip and has witty answers for tough Qs. Doesn't complain.
Palin: Accuses anyone who asks a tough Q of "gotcha journalism". Will only speak to one network, and now works for them. Is routinely owned by anchors on her own network with tough Qs that make her upset. Complains a lot.
Advantage: Bachmann
On the issues:
Bachmann has been a tea party, strong constitutionalist for the last 30 years. Evenwhen it was unpopular, she was all about small govt, and her record shows that.
Palin took a town with zero debt to 22 million in debt in less than a year as MAYOR. She was a major lib as a candidate, supportin capping emissions, amnesty, and TARP. Then, in 2009 when the Tea Party got big, she swung that way.
Advantzge: Bachmann
Education & Experience:
Bachmann is a lawyer with decades of experience in govt.
Palin went to 5 colleges for a career in journalism, then worked sketchy for 10 years as everything from part-time mayor to sports reporter to a year as governor.
Advatnage: The more consistent and experienced Bachmann.
People like to compare the two, but they've very different. Both appeal to the same groups (religious, conservative, pro-gun, small govt, less spending). However, only Bachmann actually has the experience, record, and CONSISTENCY for the job. Palin will do nothing more than give Obama 4 more years. (again*).
*60% of 2008 voters believed Palin wasn't even qualified for the Vp position (FOX/Moffit/Edison polling)
