I have a friend and his wife who won the California Lotto twice within a matter of a few months. I don't know how many millions but it was millions and except for the following .... his lifestyle did'nt change at all.
Once things settled down a bit he took 20 of his best friends to Las Vegas for a 5 night stay at the Encore Hotel/Casino and gave them each $1,000 a day to gamble with.
He paid all the expenses including the flights to LV, the meals in LV (most of those meals were within the Wynn Hotels' best restaurants), a side helicopter flight to to the Grand Canyon with a buffet lunch served on one of the canyon rims way out in the middle of no-where, the top Strip Shows .. Ka, Mystere, "O", La RIve, etc., etc.
Most of the guys lost their $1,000 a day playing Craps while they were loaded and lost that daily bankroll within 20 minutes of play. (Unfortunately the dice were NOT loaded but the Players were.)
But a few of the wives stuck to the Blackjack tables (and the Spa) and did pretty well.
And then one afternoon we found a WAR table at the Bellagio, so the wives played WAR just like most of us did as kinds and hit a winning streak while the guys once again lost big time at the Craps table (except for one player who had no idea what he was doing so he just played the Hard Ways and managed to more than double his money .... way more than double !).
It was a great time .... so I think I'll do the same thing when I win the Mega-Millions providing I don't go broke in the process.
I'd definitely take it all right away and do some investing and purchase a couple of prime real estate properties .,,,, because it's eventually gonna return someday providing that the San Andreas does'nt get too damn active.
Other than the above tour to LV, the winners' lifestyle hasn't noticeable changed at all.
