  Now this is absurd. This is because the Japanese made open weight fights all the time. They matched a 185 lbs Sakuraba against a 210 lbs ripped to the bone Wandy who was on massive doses of steroids. Of course Sakuraba lost. This is not to take anything away from Wandy - he is my favorite MMA fighter ever. But the fact is that Sakuraba was a midleweight and Wandy was a light-heavyweight...
