Movies and records were highly valued, your only chance to see music videos was on TV, and you were happy and in heaven when you saw your favourite clip like once a week, instead of anywhere anytime like it's today.
Or you saved some bucks to watch an exciting movie at the cinema, and after that you talked about it with your friends for weeks (now you're downloading 8 movies simultaneously all day long and don't even know which one is which one).

Well said. Over stimulation has made us completely desensitized. Everything I could have wanted back then, I have now at immediate access, and yet I was so much happier before.
