Weider thought so too. He probably had titles and Peter McGough thinking up a moniker for him when he won his pro card.
Not sure if you know, but when Dennis got Leukaemia, McGough's article about it in FLEX started with the line, "If you had to describe the perfect bodybuilder, you'd say 6 ft tall, White, Californian surfer boy look ..." Sure enough, in the next issue they mentioned they got tons of mail from Black people who were upset with the comment. McGough then played it off by saying he didn't think it was fair, but that in terms of marketing, it was unfortunately true.
