Why would Amanda Carrier do this?
« on: April 03, 2011, 10:33:56 AM »
Can someone really do this? This site claims that Amanda has done this THREE times or more now?

BEFORE YOU HIRE A PROFESSIONAL AGENCY TO SUBCONTRACT WITH A MODEL FOR A PHOTO SHOOT YOU MUST READ THE BELOW OR THE $800.00 DAY RATE CAN TURN INTO $100,000 PAY DAY.

We present this information to recommend that companies contemplating hiring Amanda Turchin Carrier for any photo shoot conduct their due diligence about her background and motivations.

Here are the facts:

* On NOVEMBER 14, 2008 Belly Bandit contracted with Expecting Models to provide
a post pregnant model.

* The Model they sent us was Amanda Turchin Carrier, she worked 4 hours.

* Belly Bandit paid the modeling agency.

* The Modeling agency paid Amanda Turchin Carrier in full as per her contract
with the agency. Her signed agreement with the agency states she is to be paid in 60 -90
days.

*Amanda, after being paid in full by the modeling agency, decided to sue Belly Bandit for $24,000.

Despite having been paid, Amanda Turchin Carrier, proceeded to make a claim with the EDD (State of California Department of Labor) against one of the owners of Belly Bandit stating she had not been paid from Belly Bandit. Belly Bandit had paid the modeling agency. The Agency had paid Amanda Turchin Carrier IN FULL for her work per there signed agreement (this agreement is also attached). Amanda Turchin Carrier claimed that Belly Bandit was her actual employer and was now claiming the company owed her additional money (one days wages times 30 days plus legal fees).

Yes she can. It is Against the law to hire a model and then refuse to pay and then try to negotiate a lower rate AFTER the model has worked for them.  Their claim was that Amanda Carrier had tattoos and they wanted someone without. If that were the case, why did they go thru with the shoot and use the images instead of calling in another model? Shame on Belly Bandit.

Belly Bandit did NOT pay the full agreed apon rate which forced Amanda to find a means to collect on behalf of her and her agent. And as far as other cases , I can only speculate if she wasn't paid, unnecessarily held her pay for a very prolonged period of time, or tried to pay only half then that legally gives her the right to sue them as it is part of the labor laws that u must pay ur employees.

Belly bandit has a couple cases against them and are hardly reputable to be writing such slander and completely false statements about this particular case to make them seem innocent. This goes to show u that it doesn't pay to be a bully n try to get out of paying people, or maybe that's how these million dollar companies get to where they are - by screwing over the little people along the way.

Of over 100 modeling jobs Amanda Carrier has done, I would hardly consider 3 cases being brought to court for failure to pay or bullying her to accept a low rate is hardly grounds to be called a litigious model.
