Bodybuilding lifespans vs. NFL players
« on: April 05, 2011, 05:17:29 AM »
The average NFL player dies at age 54.  (source espn radio)

Bodybuilders seem to live a lot longer.

Usually from murder or suicide.

Ok....what's even funnier than that is that a bodybuilder couldn't do half the work load of a HS, college or NFL player let alone run a 40 without snapping a hammy. BTW, this is fact.

No doubt.  But at least bodybuilders are not fatties.
This doesn't exactly count athletic in my books:

And I'm not putting football down here - it just amazes me that in 21st century there can be professional 'athletes' that fat!

Compare that to real athlete:

Offensive lineman are suppose to be built like a wall to protect QB they dont need to run more then 20 yards max per play... They are perfect size for that position... try weighing 220lbs and blocking reggie white

At :17 sec mark.... Destroys that Right Tackle with a single arm rip

Looking at this picture I see an ATHLETE with a lot of loose skin as if he dropped a ton weight. Granted there are a few out there that are over weight in the off season should be staying in shape, shape meaning if they are on the line and 300lbs during the season with good conditioning and they get to 330-340 off season and show up for camp out of shape, can't pass the conditioning test, they get fined then get put through the ringer by the S&C coach to whip his ass back in shape. This what happen to Albert Haynesworth at the beginning of last season, highest paid DT in the NFL, shows up for camp out of shape and fails his conditioning test something like 3-4 times before they would let him even practice, if I remember right, he was also fined. Remember, the standard conditioning test for most teams is the 300 yard shuttle and it needs to done in between a 1min to 1:15 OR LESS. To say these guys are out of shape isn't really fair considering the criteria and work load.

Just to add, just because someone looks out of shape doesn't mean they are, even a ripped natural bodybuilder couldn't pass this testing.

That obese lineman is still an athlete by definition. He's very specialized at what he does. Protect the QB and block defensive line and line backers for running backs.

NASCAR drivers are considered athletes too ...wtf.
