And it's totally not just recent thing - females from beginning have wanted men to provide all kind of things to them. Women are basically lazy - they just want to enjoy life without any effort. As we know, that's usually impossible so they need someone to provide that to them.

(there are few exceptions. Some women are so-called business and career orientated and want to be independent financially also. I'm certain, they have higher than average testosterone levels. Estrogen makes a human being lazy, user and so on.
