no

are you joking?

No... You may not get a lot of on the record stuff, but if the extreme liberals were as busy talking about education as abortion, then our conversations would be a lot different.

Don't get me wrong, the extreme right talks about religion and it's HATE of abortion just as much, but it is both sides that don't make education a priority... I'd much rather see free money go to kids making a 3.0 GPA or above in college, but no one seems to give a shit about them.

I hope you are.

As a socially liberal minded fiscal conservative, I can admit the absurdity from the extreme left and right.

As a left-wing abelian social program whore, you should be able to do the same.

religion?

Well, if it's the far right who use religion to rail against abortion, it makes sense you can compare the far lefts rally around it as a religion of sorts.

It's probably not 100 percent accurate, but it's not far off.

maybe I've never met someone on the extreme right or left (have you?) but I've never met anyone who comes close to what you're describign

but if I were going to guess I'd say someone on the extreme right (who's not an evangelical christian) would be more interested in abortion than education

I've heard some of the people who think Pelosi is some kind of goddess speaking of things like this. The same people who think the top 1% should be taxed at 90%.

you started out saying that you're sure some extreme liberals put abortion in front of education

I've never met anyone who came close to that kind of thinking

do you have any examples or even one example?

I have only the empirical evidence of people I have talked to and I have heard them say so... Again, no one will go on the record like that, it's just bad for business, but you get them in a closed room and you hear the way people talk.

If you need me to tell you one singular person, I could, but of 300 million people in the US, I doubt you would know who I was talking about.

It's about as accurate as you can get.  To the extreme far-left, anti-religion is about as close to an actual religion as you can get.

The far end of both sides are dead-fucked wrong though.  The fact that we're sitting at the tail end of 30 years of debt-fueled economic "growth," watching countries all around the world crumble under the same weight, and bitching about shit like this is testament to that.  We've spent the last third of a century finding new and better ways to borrow someone else's money, use it to buy something they made, claim it is suddenly worth more money (because it's in demand), and telling anyone and everyone who's ever actually manufactured a tangible "thing" to "GTFO, we need those employee slots to fuel another economic bubble, baby!"

I remember watching "Rain man," when Tom Cruise asks his brother if he knows how much the baseball cards on his wall are "worth."...never stopping to realize that they're only "worth" that much because there's still enough retards out there who'll buy them because they want to keep them, I hoped I wasn't the only one who found it funny that "Rain man" was the retard and Cruise was the "makin' bacon" guy.

Meh, never mind.  Let's get back to the minutiae of taxpayer funded programs!

Cuase it's practically an every week thing for the far right repubs.

PLEASE - list the pro- and anti-abortion bills of 2011.  Who has entered more?

heck, put it 2 years, or 10 years, whatever.

We saw the congress of 2011 enter an abortion bill almost every week (even though they knew most would fail).  They damn near shut down the govt over abortion.  Don't you get it tony - it's about winning that base vote.

it's always been "shift to far-right religious abortion issue" like this for 2-year congressmen.  Those religious types give them $ to run and votes too.  Can't blame em.

Don't expect a liberal hack to be reasonable.

That said, there are extremists on both sides.  I do agree that abortion is like a religion to some liberals.  I think the celebration of abortion is pretty macabre.

On a daily basis you continue to amaze me at how stupid you are. America spends more on its students per capita than any other country on earth except Luxembourg. Yet, we have some of the most pathetic math, science and standardized testing scores in the world. You think spending more money and having more bureaucrats is going to help solve the problem? You are a mindless, witless, gutless,  white guilt ridden liberal hack who should be given a one way ticket to Mars.

But, but, but!!

It's those evil Republicans. They ain't givning us enough money (even though, we blow $15,000 per child and private schools can educate these same ghetto kids with half as much).

I'll have to post one here; but I've seen polls that suggest that nearly 2/3 of all parents would send their kids to private schools if they had the money.

That's a DAMNING statistics for public education. Furthermore, if you look the top reasons parents send their kids to private school, at the top would be DISCIPLINE and QUALITY OF EDUCATION. Even though most private schools in America are religious ones, you'll notice that religious indoctrination isn't cited as much. I've known non-Christian parents who sent their kids to Christian schools for the aforementioned reasons.

And, despite the left's lament about private schools being mainly for the rich, the US Census Bureau notes that 80% of all families with an income of at leastt 100K send their kids to public schools. Of course, those parents can separate the wheat from the chaff (so to speak), sending their kids to the better public schools.

And our graduate programs in medicine, physics, mathematics, and engineering are filled with students who grew up sitting at broken desks and sharing one book per class.

But we can catch up to them...we just need to spend more money....
