AP Poll: Support for Obamacare hits all-time low
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:11:40 AM »
Poll: Health care law support dips on budget woes

A new poll finds support for President Barack Obama's overhaul at its lowest level since passage last year.

Worries about government deficits that keep rising due to health care costs appear to be driving the numbers.

The Associated Press-GfK poll showed that support for Obama's health insurance expansion has slipped to 35 percent, while opposition stands at 45 percent, and another 17 percent are neutral.

Among seniors, support has dipped below 30 percent for the first time.

But in an interview Tuesday with the AP, Medicare chief Donald Berwick pleaded for more time on the health care law. And he branded a leading Republican plan "unfair and harmful" and "a form of withholding care."

The poll comes ahead of a major speech by Obama on the deficit, scheduled for Wednesday.

Everyone is getting massive premium increases due to this chaos at a time of inflation, scarcity, and economic distress.   Is it any wonder that people are pissed off unless you are benny, 240, mal, andre, etc?

Hahaha, I wonder if "160 or bust" will call businessweek biased and argue that support is really in excess of 50% like he usually dose.

Mitt Romney is a giant douche, who cares what he did?  He will never be president.  Unless Americans are really dumb enough to elect him that is.

Gallup: Obama’s Approval Drops Below 50 Percent Among Poorest Americans; No Longer Enjoys Majority Approval In Any Income Class
Wednesday, April 13, 2011
By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama’s approval among the poorest Americans dropped to an all-time low of 48 percent last week, according to the Gallup poll, leaving the president with less-than-majority approval among all income brackets reported in Gallup's presidential approval surveys.

Each week, Gallup publishes the president’s average approval rating for the previous week among four income brackets: those who earn $2,000 per month or less, those who earn between $2,000 and $4,999 per month, those who earn between $5,000 and $7,499 per month, and those who earn $7,500 per month or more.

For the week of April 4-10, Obama’s approval rating was 48 percent among those making $2,000 or less per month, and 46 percent among those in each of the three higher income brackets.

This was only the second time in his presidency that Obama’s average weekly approval rating among the poorest Americans had dropped below 50 percent. The first time was three weeks ago—in the week of March 21-27—when his approval dropped to 49 percent among Americans who earn $2,000 per month or less. (Two weeks ago, the president's approval among this income bracket rebounded to 52 percent before dropping to 48 percent last week.)

The last time Obama had majority approval in all four income brackets in the Gallup poll was the week of Oct. 19-25, 2009. The first time he had less than majority approval in all four income brackets was March 21-27.

Gallup’s latest weekly presidential approval numbers, showing Obama’s approval at 48 percent among the poorest Americans, were released one day before Obama gave a speech on a new economic plan in which he repeatedly vowed to increase taxes on "millionaires and billionaires."

Gallup also released a poll this week indicating that public optimism about the future of the U.S. economy has declined sharply since the beginning of the year.

“Americans' optimism about the future direction of the U.S. economy plunged in March for the second month in a row, as the percentage of Americans saying the economy is ‘getting better’ fell to 33% --down from 41% in January,” Gallup said in its analysis of the polling numbers.

Sorry guys, healthcare is a part of what's destroying the country. The taxpayer who is picking up the tab and working at the small business won't be able to work at the small business to survive. So who does the small business employee?

What's Bachmann, Palin and Trump's plan? Status quo and let the taxpayer support a corrupt, bankrupt and inefficient system?

Worse? Worse than what? It is worse. I don't have any sympathy for the rich and people on cadillac plans that don't want to put anything into the kitty. Sorry, those days are over.

eh, it's damaging.  He should embrace it.  face it, he truly believes that every person in america should have health insurance.  Romney believes it.  He said it, and he shows it.

It doesn't match the tea party ideals, of course.

IF he gets thru the primary, he wins over obama in a MAJOR way.  Let's home tea party voters are wise enough to not choose birther trump over actually presidential mitt.  mitt was a lib when the job called for it, and he's a conservative now.  Trump was a lib in 2007 - we gotta remember that.

Obama job approval hits 5-month low in Gallup poll
By Michael A. Memoli

11:10 AM PDT, April 14, 2011

It could be gas prices, the budget debate, or simply the usual ups and downs of public opinion polling. But President Obama's approval rating has dipped to a five-month low in Gallup's daily tracking poll, reverting to post-midterm election lows.

The survey, a three-day rolling average conducted April 11-13, pegs Obama's approval at 42%, the lowest since Nov. 10-12. For only the 13th time in his term and the first time since late October, his disapproval rating has reached 50%.

Since the self-described "shellacking" of his party last November, Obama's numbers have zig-zagged within a 9-point range, from the low of 42% to a high of 51%. He enjoyed a sustained upward trend after the tax cuts compromise in December's lame duck session of Congress.

Any boost he may have gained from last Friday's 11th hour compromise may be offset by other economic concerns, particularly higher fuel prices.

The White House routinely dismisses polling data. But it's a troublesome footnote as the president kicks off his re-election effort Thursday.

I can't believe that some people still think healthcare is a god given right and that we should all have to pay for somebody elses  care. Or the rich are at fault. How many people here work for poor people? Dude..work hard..get a job..and pay for your care. Don't expect me to pay for your care. We can't afford free loaders anymore. The system is broken. The damm immigrants have crushed the welfare system...crushed our healthcare system....and Barry does nothing but make bullshit speeches.
