don't go near failure?still get growth stopping short?
these days i wont get any growth at all if i go to failure... gotta make love to the muscles, not hurt the babies.. failure is like jabbin a knife into the poor thing.. its gotta recover form that injury first... take it nice and easy, lift heavy, and stop way before it hurts, rest a logn time between sets so the muscle is always fresh.. baby steps. work the muscle, but dont hurt the muscle. little bit of growth every workout, and quick recovery so i can hit it every 3-4 days. going to failure for me is a guarantee of overtraining. used to train to failure on every set back when i first started and it would work great. lost ~100lbs fat and gained ~30lbs muscle in the course of a year and half training that way. would do 4-5 exercises per body part and 4-5 sets per exercise.. failure each time. was at a platue for about another year and a half and started jucing. gained another 30 lbs or so. hit another platue. tried everything, but the only thign to work is the sub-failure method. credit due to JPM for telling me about this style of training. FYI its the way most olympic powerlifters train.
1 fucking sentence!!
Exactly what I thought. James Joyce, here, is still gonna be writing the answer to the first exam question when the 3-hour mark rolls around and papers are being gathered up.
