nugget for the day most hr with fewest hits in a career was by juicer bobby estalella. he hit 48 hr with only 195 hits in a career, call him mister all or nothing.

norm cash 1961 batting champ with a 361 avg pictured on this card forgetting to zip up his fly died  after getting drunk and falling off his boat and drowning.

that is amazing esp considering guy had 131 lifetime triples which is usually indicative of speed.

today's nugget jackie jensen is the only man to play in the rose bowl, east west shrine game, world series, and all-star game. he retired young due to his fear of flying brought about due to baseball's west coast expansion.

jackie jensen early card and last card he retired than came back in 1961 and reretired.

Do you collect baseball cards funk?

I used to when i was younger. I got the itch again last year when strasburg broke in to the majors.

yup, it just one of my other interests books, vintage weights, cards, old muscle mags, music.

today's nugget. record for hitting a homerun in consecutive games is 8 done by dale long, don mattingly and ken griffey jr. mike schmidt once started a season by hitting 12 hrs in 15 games since duplicated by barry bonds. frank howard once hit a homerun in 6 consecutive games totalling 10 hrs in that span.
