They are very rarely ever denied. Besides, that piece of paper will not do a damn thing. If someone wants to beat your ass or kill you, the piece of paper can't stop them. They are a joke and are usually obtained to use as a tool during a messy divorce and custody battle.

plus, we don't know the reason why it was denied. It could be because she didn't qualify---saying that she was scared, but didn't elaborate, or that nothing has happened yet...in most states you can't get a order on what "may happen", like you know the future---but what HAS happened. Maybe there were not any instances of abuse, or maybe she didn't fill out the paperwork properly.
Many of the people who try to obtain them, do use them as tools...the ones who do need them, are too scared to get them.
Plus, it was stupid to have the both of them in the judge's chambers at the same time.
