Ron has been told numerus times by the NPC/IFBB powers that be if he wants to have a good time at the shows and have access backstage and to the pageant contestents then he has to play face. Funny about Ron is off-air inperson he will admit just that. He agrees with everything but he wont support it publically. See the hypocrisy?

Same wth RX Muscle and MD. The NPC-IFBB is off limits becase they are afraid to lose access to shows and sponsorship money.

Let me get this into your head one more time.  This is a bodybuilding board, we talk about industry related items, whether bodybuilding, supplements, girls, expo and more.  But some of you think that you have the freedom to yell 'fire' in a theater. You don't.  As I have said countless of times, don't like it, don't come here.

See, if it was a move to criticize the IFBB or NPC, and make suggestions, I am all for it. How to improve the sport, how to make things better, how to support things, BUT some of you don't care for that.  What you care if how to call people names, how to piss off people, how to use every derogatory name and attack and bash anyone who is associated with the sport who actually run it.

Not cool.

See, let me get this into your heads.  I enjoy the sport, I enjoy going to the expos, to the contests, to meet friends, competitors and people at these events. I got to about 20-25 of them a year.  I like to get stories, to take pictures, and to actually enjoy meeting people, saying hello and having fun.

This is what I envision this place, a hardcore gym locker mentality that we can talk about shit, crap, girls, bodybuilding.  I did not envision it as a place where you can bash the actual people that go to the shows in a way that you call them corrupt, crooks, and more.  That is bullshit.

Put up the money to run a contest, from the venue, to hire the guys, to promotions and more.  Businesswise.  Yes, I care more about these people because I actually see them 10-20 times a year at events.

But some of you don't care - your only grace in life is to bash and ruin things, because you get off on it.  No proof, just half truths mixed with lies.  I am tired of it.  And so are many others.

I can tell you know that if someone in any sport bashes the officials of that sport, basketball, golf, mma, and so many like they way you want to, they won't be allowed there either.  For some of you, you don't care.  You dont like it, you don't go to the events, and you don't go to expos or work in the industry, nor care.   You get off bashing someone because you think it is funny. It isnt.

As for President Obama - try bashing him or threatening him and then go to one of his events. You won't even make it through the door.

What is it you would like to know?

Why are IFBB promoters saying that the cost to sanction a pro women's bodybuilding event is $5000 when, according to what you have argued, the women bring in maybe 5% as much value as the men?

Ron attends contests and supports the organization, officials, etc. I don't. I have the good of bodybuilding at heart and always have had. I don't agree that the men and women should remain untested for banned substances in the professional contests. I support open elections. Perhaps no one should be allowed to hold office for more than 5 years. Bring in new people and undo the business side of bodybuilding. Make this a sport and do the testing and we can get support and respect from the public. Not right away but we will do better than we are now. Bodybuilding is a sham and disgrace the way drugs are used by so many. Ron talks about supporting bodybuilding. That is fine. Why does he allow people like gh15 to post detailed information about drugs that help build muscle size, etc.? I can't see how disseminating drug information is supporting or helping bodybuilding in any way whatsoever.

The way the Pro League is now run resembles a closed shop of insiders. They make and enforce the rules and even appoint the pro athletes rep. Talk about an inside job!

Ron isn't a bodybuilder and is unlikely to ever compete as one. If he did and felt the contests weren't fair he would reconsider his position on the validity of the whole thing.

There is Bob C defending the way the IFBB operates. Well, we don't have to name the top 5 in any contest. That is merely another opinion and what we want is independent, unbiased, experienced, and intelligent opinions of who is the best. Only then will contests have the support of the fans. The bodybuilders don't stray because they will never place high if they do. Examples are Lee Priest and Milos Sarcev.

At the moment we can not replace unsatisfactory or controversial individuals from their positions. Paul Graham holds his position in Australia for life. Ditto for Manion and the others. Look at how long Bob C has had his important position. Well, that is a bit different because no sound musclehead would be silly enough to accept that role.

Ron it's not all about calling people names, although, that comes with the territory... it's that even if you so much as get down right critical, they come down on you.  What I'm getting at, is that pretty much every other industry has some sort of oversight, and if they don't follow the Feds step in, bodybuilding is a self regulating industry, if there is any regulating at all... because it's a niche industry, the Feds are pretty much hands off. So in fact, they are like the inflated egos of the bbers. It seems that it is a never ending cycle of greed ---do as your told or else, exploitation, homo-erotica, snake oil supps, roids, etc.

Who regulates that? The NPC and the IFBB, but it will fall on deaf ears! But we can rag the bber---the one's whose backs the industry is built on? Odd isn't it?

the sanction fee is set by the IFBB, and no, its not cheaper to run a FBB competition because they bring in less revenue....

Much the same as it's not any cheaper to run a commercial during primetime TV for a company that only makes 1M/ yr. as opposed to 10 M/ yr.

From the way Ron writes here it appears he is part of the bodybuilding establishment. He is one of the boys and mates with many of the insiders.

I agree with Ron that too much knocking of others goes on here. Nobody can control it now.

Arbitrary to who...YOU?  It's a business, just like any other...and they have every right to ask for X amount of dollars to use their name/ brand/ etc..

Just like in my example of commercial time...they (the network) decides what price using their channels are worth to the customer...

You have no argument here..

The IFBB is untouchable, just a sanctioning body.  The promoters absorb all the risk.  It's a great arrangement for the IFBB.

No argument there...but the promoters arent looking to LOSE money either, which is why they tend to only support those divisions that have a chance of an ROI
