Who the heck pays 10% of what they earn? Not me anyway!

There is no directive whatsoever what you have to pay!

You obviously are not familiar with the Bible and Christianity.  It is tide 10% of what your earn.

You do realise I have never once been asked for that.

Where I come from the Church appreciate everything they get, the ask to be generous but set no figure. A poor man who give a fiver gives much more than a wealthy man who gives a tenner.

I know they never tell you what to tithe, to many though who read the bible itself, know 10% is the required amount off what you make.  It is mentioned in the old testament, but no mentions in the new testaments, some Christians use this excuse to "steal God's" money and not tithe.

Money is only useful on earth, has no place in heaven. I doubt God places as much importance on it as we do.

The church doesn't look down on you (or at least it shouldn't) if you give less than 10% or anything at all. You give what you can afford, I know poor people that give more than 10% and reap the rewards of their generosity.

Bible is very poorly written. No plot, no character development, lots of repetition. Reads like a phonebook. Can't understand those Christians who read the bible daily year after year. There are much more inspiring phantasy books te read.

It has always been the way since the beginning of time that poor people have more children. Even in non Catholic countries.
Largest in terms of population of Catholics is Brazil...Latin America is ground central for Catholocism. The stance on birth control helps more poor people have more kids, thus continuing the cycle of being poor...and more people for the Church...It's a game man, a plan...
Convert as many as possibly or have as many kids as possible...

agreed, not sure God will like that fiver, considering 10% is the number he is suppose to give, he is stealing from God.

I'd give the full 10% and more if they'd fire up the Holy Crusades again.
