I was doing some brutal curls yesterday and my upper back got this throbbing pain when i picked up the weights. the whole upper back stiffened and turned into what felt like a single plate. it hurts like shit and i couldn't sleep all night.
apparently, it's not that uncommon. but i need to take "muscle relaxers" until the pain goes away. is there something other than nubain i can take?
Oh crap..I had the same injury, along with a shoulder one...(in the same workout). The shoulder recovered fast, 3-4 days.
But the back, It took me a week and a half to see improvements. I took nothing, no painkillers, no topical solutions..nothing just continued to lift but with caution.
When you bend your head downwards or when you lean it left/right, does your "spine" hurt ? Mine did.
