yep, very similar.

i'm from bradford, west yorkshire. kes was filmed and starred locals from barnsley, south yorkshire.

kes is a fantastic film btw

Say what you want about Karl Pilkington, but the man can recommend a film.

i always wonderd what the fuss is about her accent, its very mild, shes lived down south for years, not as tho shes full on

propper geordie, scouse and glasweigen would be hard for the average american to comprehend

I'm originally from Glasgow and although I left when I was 15 to live in England, I've still got my accent although it has been diluted considerably. However, whenever I've been in the US (New York and Vegas) a lot of the people there can't understand a damn thing I said to them. At first I thought it was funny then it just began to get frustrating as hell because beforehand I thought they would have loved it.
