NY mosque leaders upset over neighbor's 'bomb' sign

AMHERST, N.Y. – Muslim leaders in a Buffalo, N.Y., suburb are upset over a homeowner's sign insinuating that bombs are being made next door at a newly opened mosque.

Michael Heick (hyke) placed a sign reading "Bomb Making Next Driveway" on the front lawn of his property along a heavily traveled road in the town of Amherst. The next driveway on the same side of the road is the entrance to the Jaffarya (JAH'-free-yuh) Center.

Heick tells media outlets that he put up the sign last weekend because he was frustrated with how the mosque and town officials handled his complaints that the building was constructed too close to his property.

Mosque officials say the sign's message is offensive. They want to meet with Heick but he hasn't responded to their requests.

How is the sign stopping anyone from practicing their religion?

Yes you have the right to free speech and you have the right to freedom of religion, you don't not have the right to not be offended

Oh yeah this is not attempt to draw negativity towards a specific religion right?  Give me a break.  That's as bad as a burning cross on a black persons lawn then saying "well it doesn't stop you from being free and doing what you want"   

It just shows how far we have fallen as a country when idiots like this are around and have backers like you fools.

I don't give a shit if someone wants to worship a tree in their back yard, the second they start using that religion as a tool for violence, well then I have a big fucking problem with it. So you can climb down off your moral high horse before you get altitude sickness.

In any event, this homeowner is not violating the First Amendment, and the people using the mosque are not being deprived of First Amendment rights.  He has the right to express himself, and they have to right worship.

The Amendments are to prevent the government from taking away your rights not, some guy posting a sign in his yard. If the sign said kill the muslims next door then we have a problem.
