I would need front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive where I live.

I am torn between a high powered big car Mondeo ST220, Vectra 3.2 GSI, Jag X-Type Octavia VRS or a smaller sportier 'cooler' car but many smaller ones tend to be RWD.

But really if I was in your situation here's what I would do depending on the scenario.

If you plan to buy and keep a car for atleast 7-10 years then buy a used Honda for around $7K and keep the $3 for repairs over the next few years as well as basic maintenance like brakes, oil, new tires, engine/tranny work...etc.

If you plan on driving the car for less than 5 years then go finance or lease a car where your payment is around $300 a month max and then take the rest of the money and make some sort of investment

I think they are very nice. I would also disagree. VW own Bugatti but slight different in both cars my friend.

If you don't know much about cars, get a mechanic that you trust to look it over first.  He'll also know about parts availability and costs.

Get A KIA ....  very reliable, lots of bang for the buck ...  ipod dock, blue tooth , CD , satellite radio .....  all standard

In all honesty I am not a big fan of Jeeps or 4x4's though many of them have excellent performance now instead of just being big lumps!

It is what it is, man...many of those dudes who own those cars don't come off as braggarts. I've engaged some people who'd you never think have those cars in convo, and next thing you'd know he'd either show me a pic of his Ford GT, Lambo, or he'd bring said car around the next day to where I work. It's usually  the old heads who are that way...
