x2.

Also my dad was an ex-athlete so it was easy to suggest if we could go to the gym together. Initial reason was that I wanted to be stronger on the push ups.  ;D

I wanted to be pro... FLEX magazines of my father inspired me  ;D

Years later I realized my genetics and gave up the dream. At good time as I didn't have caused too much damage to my body yet at that point.

my older brother didnt want to go to the gym alone, he was scared of other people in there, so he took me with him and when he quit i stuck with it. Allowed me to channel my anger and energy when i was a teen. Helped a lot to date /find /  seduce the good woman. Since then i lost interest in being the most muscular man who ever walked on earth and focus on more fulfiling things. Learned that 99% of what makes the bodybuilding/weightlifting/fitness "world" is about pure bullshits , narcistic immature uneducated assholes and fags with troubled relations with their parents.
Stopped taking supps after i understood the way steroids worked and how the people i stupidly wanted to look like managed to look that good pretending to do the stuff i was doing.
Basically i grew up.

I still keep lifting 3 / 4 hours a week, doing the basics for arms, chest, abs, quads, only for my girl to enjoy my body when we have sex. I often showed off my muscles when i was younger, trying to impress, prove things to other men because i was insecure about my education and job position, nowadays i mostly hide them cause i dont want the attention. Surprisingly people are a lot more respectful toward me as a result and after some time always ask me how i got that "muscular" -when im absolutely not , i look like mark wahlberg when he s off steroids-. Training naturally for years is largely enough to be in better shape/healthier than most people and gives your body a tough, washed up yet impressive tone that most people wish they had. No need to be a steroided pile of water and fat that makes everyone figure in the second you re just a moron with a little dick/no education/got bullied when a kid with nothing else much.

Lots of shitty stuff related to lifting weights. So many suckers who think they re the new arnold because they got a pump in their biceps, and that they re better than everyone else just because dopamine and serotonine in their brain are at high level due to the physical effort they just produced. After some years -decades for others who are a bit slower in the head- you keep what's good and ignore all the other bullshits who make you more miserable than anything in the long run.

My father, i always remember him being so big ( he was about 270 pounds most of the time )
he brought BB to home with his heavy amounts of food, the old Ironman magazines, and always had looks and comments from people around, so since 8yo i knew that i gonna end up lifting and getting big.

I was at the beach when this guy kicked sand in my face and stole my gal, I started lifting right after I hunted him down and shot him.

Discovered when I was about 13 or 14 that I liked lifting weights better than running track and playing football (soccer). Stuck with it ever since.
