yeah I agree----also a game of patience and strategy, nothing like watching a great hitter face a great pitcher and watch the mental game they play with each other

fake. But i had a friend in HS that would play baseball with no glove. :o The secret is to catch the ball with your finger tips.

Yeah, if you want to break your finger tips. :P

I used to practice without my glove pretty often if someone else was missing their's. The "catch'n'spin" was a funny sight but it worked from keeping your hands from breaking. In the outfield we'd get real bored and try to catch pop flies way over our head by flinging our hats. Once in a blue moon you snag one out of the air, but what happened most of the time was just straight catching them with our hats. Practice was a million times better than actual games.

A ball traveling at that velocity would clearly have dissipated its energy with greater force in his hand as he stopped its inertia so abruptly and with ease. The absorption of energy would have been considerable and his hand would be toast for a good while. I hope nobody is fooled by this video.
