This is the greatest write up I've ever read on the two greatest superheroes ever created fighting each other, Superman vs Captain Marvel!! Amazing work and a great entertaining read!! I always thought Captain Marvel was way better than Superman.

1 win of Supes is questionable because CM was depowered.

CM has the only true beat down and knock out to humbled supes.

Supes never really beat CM in Kingdom Come, he tricked CM to change back to Billy.

Nah, CM has the edge.

And the reason why, is that Supes never wants to "beat someone", basically he just wants to stop someone...He has to always think about his power...

Look at it like this. Cpt. marvel is powered by magic, Supes the Sun...without the sun, the world will not exist, therefore no magic....the Sun is greater than magic, therefore Supes is more powerful than Cpt. Marvel

ive read all the issues
i own the dvd to the clip you just posted and captain marvel lost in that one as well
and my opinion is in most confrontations no trickey captain gets he ass handed to him even with his magic

No, I love Superman, especially Kingdom Come Superman.

A point I'd like to make is that Captain Marvel's clearest disadvantage against Superman seems to be his relative inexperience/innocence. In the JLU episode where they're fighting over Lexor City, Superman clearly gains the upper hand well before the fight ends and I think that that is because he shows greater skill in simple fighting. He starts to get more hits in and, to me, it comes across as greater experience in a slugfest.

That being said, the one fight that stands out the most for me is the Spear of Destiny CM in All Star Squadron #36 decisively beating Supes and humbling him. This is a CM that isn't suffering from his young, innocent, and inexperienced mind. This CM pwns Superman and even Batman and Wonder Woman are shocked. If you read the issues then you know all this. To me it is the most decisive win in their entire rivalry. Superman may have come out higher in the ultimate tally score, but the reality seems to me to be that Captain Marvel could win more times than not if his heart was really in it.
