George Mitchell vs. Colin Powell
« on: May 21, 2011, 07:57:05 PM »
Was talking to a liberal friend of mine who is a staunch Obama supporter.  I was complaining about the poor quality of candidates we put at the top of the ticket in both parties.  For example:  Carter, Dukakis, Dole, Kerry, Gore, McCain, Bush, Obama.  We could have done much better.

He said it's a shame I have never voted for someone that I was really excited about it.  He said voting for JFK, Reagan, and Obama were votes he was very proud of.

Who would your ideal ticket consist of?  If you had to pick one Democrat and one Republican, and maybe even an independent (although no independent will win an election anytime soon).

I came up with Mitchell vs. Powell.  Not because I agree with either one on every issue, but because they are smart, experienced, outstanding leaders, and just overall high quality human beings.  I wish I had that choice in 2008.
