For all the case law I have ever read, there was no other decision that truly grasped the meaning of what it once meant to be American than Boyd v. United States, 116 U.S. 616 (1886).
America was the “Promised Land” to which people fled from tyranny elsewhere. Today, everyone has forgotten what US Constitution really stood for and how it was a major turning point in history along with the French Revolution. I doubt you can even find a member of Congress who appreciates how the
Revolution came about.
