I thought a Mr Olympia physique was the result of hard work ,good diet, adequate sleep, commitment and dedication.
I thought "drugs dont make a champion".
I thought the reason I didnt gain much weight while others in the gym literally inflated in front of me was that I was a "hardgainer"
I thought their gains ( and and zit covered backs) were "genetics".
I thought amino acids,dibencozide ,smilax,inosine, were needed .
I thought I could gain 5' on my arms by following a magazine routine.
I thought I could gain 20 pounds in 10 weeks by following a magazine routine.
I thought "some" people use drugs for a shortcut ,but you could still get there without them.
I thought bodybuilders were the epitome of fitness and health.
I though it was a sport
I thought wrong

Hmm i could tell already he's on some meds, the way he speaks, before he said he bipolar.
Í'm bipolar too, but ditched the med after 4 months, they even wanted to increase the dose i said no, he's most definetely on a antipsychotic called olanzapina and maybe small doses of lithiuma.
You dont function well on that shit and you will become more depressed, you can see it in his facial expressions.

For 12 years I believed Bruce Lee developed a muscle nobody else had through repeated one inch punch training, thanks to my older brother.

Like everything else in our society we slowly discover that everything around us is a carefully crafted lie and deception. Like our beloved "sport". One of our childhood "heroes" makes no exception. I am talking of course about Jean Claude Van Varenberg aka JCVD. I watched a GREAT documentary shot as a reality show about his life nowadays. It was fascinating. I discovered a manic depressive programmed individual who can no longer function normal swinging from one extreme to another while completely lost as far as his identity is concerned. I recommend it. I found it very sad but fascinating.

Van Damme is a complete nutcase...

sad.

After years of serious drug abuse, people change-- not just normal age related change, but mental illness change.

Had he stayed straight, he probably could have been on the top of his game today... or Van Damn close to it.

That's actually JCVD circa 1993!

There was a time when I thought that action stars and wrestlers were huge.  :-\
