No, misuse of company property, which includes the network, internet access............
sounds like what all those people at the SEC were doing

As of yet it doesn't appear that Weiner used government property to do this stuff

that's my view as well

it does show really bad judgement and if I were a voter I would have to consider it

I suppose if the politician was really good, i would let something like this slide..In example if there was a 3.9% underemployment rate i would look the other way, and perhaps even forget that Obama isn't a US natural Born Citizen...However, were at 23%..

"The Weiner Act of 2011"
Lawmakers Propose Teen 'Sexting' Law
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304474804576367960734408624.html?mod=WSJ_WSJ_US_News_5

By JACOB GERSHMAN

New York state lawmakers are advancing a bill that would create an "educational reform program" for teenagers who get in trouble for creating and sharing pornographic images of minors.

The program, proposed by Assembly Democrats, is intended to give prosecutors and judges a more lenient option for dealing with teenagers accused of "sexting," using their cellphones, email or social-networking sites to distribute naked and sexually explicit pictures of themselves or classmates.

Lawmakers introduced what they call the "Cyber Crime Youth Rescue Act" on Friday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo hasn't taken a position on the bill, sponsored by Assemblyman Nick Perry of Brooklyn. The measure hasn't been introduced in the Republican-led Senate.

Journal Community

More than a dozen other statehouses have introduced or passed statutes giving prosecutors more leeway in handling "sexting" cases and distinguishing such offenses from child pornography and sexual-predator crimes that come with more serious and lasting punishments.

A similar measure passed the New Jersey Assembly this year.

New York state lawmakers are advancing a bill that would create an "educational reform program" for teenagers who get in trouble for creating and sharing pornographic images of minors.

"There are too many kids who are getting themselves into serious trouble for adolescent behavior," said Alan Maisel, a Democratic assemblyman from Brooklyn and a co-sponsor of the bill. "I don't know if they should be tainted with this evil brush for the rest of their lives."

The training program created under the bill would be available statewide and administered by the Office of Children and Family Services. As an alternative to prosecution, district attorneys could recommend that judges assign mandatory training to first-time offenders who are 18 years old or younger.

Prosecutors would have to determine that the child didn't intend to commit a crime and that directing them to the program would have a public benefit outweighing "the harm done to society by abandoning criminal prosecution."

The program would teach children the potential legal consequences for sharing sexually suggestive or explicit images. And it would lay out the impact that such graphic materials could have on their relationships and career. And it would also stress to them "the nearly unlimited ability of an infinite audience to utilize the Internet search for and replicate materials."

"A charge of this type can ruin the future of a young person who was too inexperienced to understand the consequences of his or her actions," states the bill.

Weiner Admits Sending Photo, Pelosi Calls for Probe

Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted he sent a photo of his bulging underwear to a female Twitter follower and says he has had inappropriate conversations with as many as six women on Facebook and Twitter over the past three years.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi called for an Ethics Committee investigation "to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred."

During a tearful news conference on Monday, Weiner apologized to his wife, family, constituents and friends, and said he is "deeply ashamed" but does not plan to resign. He said he does not believe he broke the law.

Brietbart made a good point that these kinds of scandals potentially put us in harm's way, because Weiner (and others like him) are subject to blackmail.  No doubt in my mind Weiner posed that kind of risk given the lengths he went through to try and keep this from getting exposed.

Pelosi calls for Weiner ethics inquiry
Politico ^ | June 6, 2011 | John Bresnahan

________________________ ________________________ _____

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Steve Israel, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, are calling for an investigation into Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) over the series of sexually explicit conservations and lewd photos he exchanged with a half-dozen women during the last several years.

“I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony’s wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents,” Pelosi said in a statement released on Monday night.

“I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.”

Israel added: “Congressman Anthony Weiner engaged in a deep personal failure and inappropriate behavior that embarrassed himself, his family, and the House. Ultimately, Anthony and his constituents will make a judgment about his future .

“To remove all remaining doubt about this situation, I agree with Leader Pelosi’s request that the House Ethics Committee use its authority to begin an investigation.”

The calls by Pelosi and Israel for an ethics investigation dramatically raise the political stakes for Weiner. While he stated repeatedly during an emotional press conference on Monday that he had broken no laws nor violated House ethics rules during his interaction with the women, a probe by the House Ethics Committee could find differently.

And it also could provide Pelosi and other Democratic leaders with political cover to call on Weiner to step down. So far, none of his Democratic colleagues have called on him to give up the seat that he first won in 1998.

“I am deeply regretting what I have done, and I am not resigning,” the New York Democrat told reporters on Monday afternoon. “I am deeply sorry for the pain this has caused Huma, my wife, and my family.”

Weiner should lose his job because he's just plain stupid.  Not necessarily cause of what he did.

I opposed and oppose obamacare.

Aside from "me too, good call dawg", I'm not sure what I could add to a thread when I already completely agree with its premise.

Always funny when these brain-dead, dipshit liberals expose themselves as nothing more than robotic sheep who fall in lock-step with everything their party members do. How sad to go through life a robot.

Don't worry, he'll blame it on Bush and Palin.

Maybe he should see Tiger Woods' therapist?

. . .

He insisted he did not use government equipment, using his own phone and his home computer, to communicate with the women.

People who know Weiner were stunned, having argued as recently as last week that he was too smart to have done what he was accused of.

“Well, apparently he wasn’t,” one told The Huffington Post.

Another said keeping his job may be the least of his worries.

“Forget staying in office. He’s going to get divorced," the person said.

The congressman insisted that his marriage would survive, and said he might seek psychiatric help.

“I'm going to try to handle this, and I have not ruled out seeing someone,” he said. “This is a deep weakness that I have demonstrated, and for that I apologize."

Anthony Weiner Should Resign Now
Washington Times ^ | June 6, 2011 | Emily Miller
Posted on June 6, 2011 9:50:35 PM EDT by Qbert

Rep. Anthony Weiner lost the support of the leader of his party when House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced on Monday that, "I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred."

[Snip]

The wily eight-term congressman refused to resign his office, claiming that he did not break any rules or laws because he he didn't use any government resources for his sexual predator actions. “I don't believe that I used any government resources,” he said. Mr. Weiner also claimed, “my Blackberry is not a government Blackberry. My home computer is usually where I did these things.”

[Snip]

Although Mr. Weiner claims to have not used any taxpayer funded resources for his sexual peccadilloes, he has lied long enough that the Ethics Committee will need to investigate his office computer, phone records and Blackberry.  The committee rules are based on the Code of Official Conduct for the House. The first rule is that a member, “shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.” Mr. Weiner sending sexual photos of himself and highly charged sexting message to strangers clearly violates this rule.

The Office of Congressional Ethics – which was begun under then-Speaker Pelosi to allow for outside groups to file complaints about Members of Congress – would not respond if it was investigating Mr. Weiner.

Perhaps if Mr. Weiner had admitted immediately to sending the Tweet, the onetime New York mayoral candidate might have come out of this, but the lying and deceit make a clean getaway impossible now.  Since the Twitter photo was uncovered by Andrew Brietbart a little over a week ago, Mr. Weiner has held repeated press conferences to openly lie to cover up...
