i havent even seen a pro in real life.

I met Dexter Jackson and Ronnie.

Dexter is a total prick.   He is tiny in real life and a punk.

Ronnie is cool as hell and freaking massive.   Until you are next to ronnie is hard to appreciate how big he is.

Still nice bi's for a cyclist. Weighs 170 lbs now.

Kal has been bike racing for over 25 years now(local Masters racing). It's been amazing to see him get smaller/leaner since he first entered that scene.

Around the time of the 1998 Mr. O, I was at a movie theater in Baltimore's inner harbor...in the theater was who I thought was Shawn Ray...after the movie finished he left...I saw him on Baltimore's Block, going into one of the pornshops, and then into a strip club...my friends and I were yelling " What's up Shawn Ray!"

It wasn't him...in was in Las Vegas that weekend...

I have met former National and local competitor Andrew Sarmast on numerous occasions since the mid-90s...he is a former workout partner of Kevin Levrone...and dude is huge...good guy as well.

Dorian is a cool dawg irl, would let anyone train with him regardless of size of they worked hard. Was mostly training with very normal type looking dudes, not doing gear etc. Trained with him too back in 04 or so. Not much of a speaker, but we allready knew that... Craig was a speaker though... and a was big on narcs... Cormier was cool too and not as big on narcs as his rep. Met and hang out with these guys in Amsterdam. Craig was Mcing Dorians contest at the time and would afterwards do alot of dope. Then he wrote a statement about him and the shecraigger NOT DOING ANY DRUGS AT ALL WHILE BEING IN A-DAM AND OFFCOURSE NOT VISITING ANY COFFEESHOPS. Maybe he already brought his own but he was pretty high and actually very funny. The opposite pro of Craig would be Ed Van Amsterdam, who would verbally assault me for being clean (at the time, just for a few months), he would tell everybody jokes about mushroom trips and how much he would smoke. First thing he asked was somehting like "man I need more GH, got any good sources?". Indeed a funny, kinda childish dude. Met alot more of them...but those 4 stand out. All of them except of Dorian because of persona.

You dont realize how big pro's are until you see them in person. Ive been lucky to train around some pros (Jim Momany, Francois, Hendershot) and to see a shit load guest pose. The biggest guys ive ever seen were Fux, Coleman, and Dillett. Paul Dellett didnt look real. In clothes he wasnt that impressive, but when he posed, it made you wonder how this guy ever got beat.  Saw Dexter and Joe McNeal at Outback about 8 weeks berfore the 2009 Olympia and he was BIG! Real nice too.

AMEN, him and his ugly friend Stan "curly top"

I was at the NY Pro with my girl one year and he was trying to hit on her in front of me and looked at him and said - "Kind of low rent and ghetto for a supposed pro no?"

He had nothing to say after that and we walked away.

Some of my impressions after briefly meeting some pros;

King Kamali-Really good guy and really down to earth.

Shawn Ray-Bothered him for a pic while he was eating and it wasn`t a problem. Later as he was the guest poser,he was backstage with us and shot the shit just like a regular guy.......no airs about him.

Jeff Poulin-As I said,extremely nice guy.

Kovacs-FUCKING HUGE!!!  really cool the time I met him in Florida.

Tom Prince-CARTOONISH!!

Bob Chick-Always cool.

George Farrah-Actually came backstage to wish me a happy birthday and didn`t know me from adam.

I thought that was pretty damn awesome at the time.

Mike Katz-Couldn`t meet a nicer guy.

Arnold-Full of charisma and joking around.(circa 1975)

Franco-Cool as hell, but hard to understand with his thick Italian accent (circa 1976-77)

Bill Grant-One of the great with a great personality and an extremely nice person.
A true legend who always conducts himself properly.

Cutler-Never even heard him utter more than two words and I`ve seen him a zillion times.

Lou Ferrigno-Nothing good to say,so I won`t say shit!!

Ronnie-Cool!

Cormeir-Also pretty cool.

Levrone-Ahhhgg !!

Dave Marinelli-Trained a couple of bodyparts with him when I lived in Florida.......great guy.

Jeremy Freeman-Also a good dude.

Vince Taylor-Awesome person.

Getting tired of thinking back..........my brain is overtrained or underdeveloped.........n ot sure which anymore.  :)

Dave Mastorakis-A close personal friend and a great guy ...........another legend.

Met Shawn Ray and Ronnie. Shawn was kind of a prick, though he carried himself like a professional. Ronnie was---...---Pretty much not a human being. When he signed his picture, I was all nervous (this was 2003 mind you) and I thought his arm might eat me. It was beyond enormous...It was not even human.

Also met Chris Cormier near the expo in 2001, shook his hand, it was huge and squishy. I asked him if he was gonna beat ronnie, he was like "uh hehe yeah!". He didn't seem all there.

I saw Cormier at the 2001 expo as well...big guy with braids at the time....he was hanging out with Gunther who had on a suit which was obviously tailor made for him...it was such a huge suit..

Met Jay Cutler at a GNC right after he beat Ronnie for the first time...he was there with his wife..HUGE MOFO.....and wide as a truck....couldn't believe that a human could get that big,,he signed my copy of Muscular Development with him on the cover....his wife is really cute but small..I was wondering how she could could take all of Jay inside her...LOL

I`ve met a lot more than that doing all the contests I`ve been in and attended.

I saw Kevin at one contest and only one time.........my impression was that he thought he was really above everybody and everything.

Of course I really don`t know him so I could be dead wrong but he seemed like an idiot! :)

That list for me is real looooooooong!

They were all cool.... and in need of "attention" - prolly still are - even more so now than then.

I saw Luke Wood training a few years ago in Thailand. Terrible form on back movements. Crazy Delts

I also saw Gary Strydom a few years ago walking down the street. Big Arms.

Went to a seminar given by Jonathan Davies.

Also seen a seminar given by Jaroslav Horvath.

Never seen a top tier pro.

WES, ROB, Good call! I met, worked with and celebrated births and deaths and graduations of all you mentioned above x-cept for Marinelli and your friend in Fl and I gotta agree with ya 100%.

You are a fine judge of character. (X-cept for one or two.)

King Kamali- Great person.

Shawn Ray - I first met Shawn when he was still a teen. I think it was at Weider's office when Everson was working for Joe and we stopped in to say "Howdy" before heading back home after some contest that was promoted in one of the Disneyland Hotels. A great bodybuilder and person in his own right.

Jeff Poulin- Too long back to recall, but I do remember him as a great person.

Kovacs-FUCKING HUGE!!!  Yea, I totally agree and he was in the 'gaining wt process' and breathing hard climbing the steps to the stage. Quiet, quiet,  and unassuming.

Tom Prince - Super great person.

Bob Chick - The Best of the bunch. Always pisses me off when I hear bad shit from fantasy fans.

George Farrah - Always willing to stop and talk with his fans.

Mike Katz - Met a younger Mike and was impressed by his courtesy.

Arnold- Knew Arnold when he first arrived in the USA. Good guy always. Likes attention.

Franco- Speaks good English now.

Bill Grant- One of my very good friends when he was still competing, but have3 not see Bill since he moved back east. (Bill - Contact me!)

Cutler-Never even heard him utter more than two words and I`ve seen him a zillion times. (Ditto)

Lou Ferrigno-Nothing good to say,so I won`t say shit!! Damn accurate.

Ronnie- Good guy and damn impressive even between contests.

Cormeir- Saw him often but never had the opportunity to talk with him other than a swift "Howdy!".

Levrone - Good guy.

Jeremy Freeman-Also a good dude. Agreed!

Vince Taylor-Awesome person. Agreed.

Looking back over the years, two of the pros stick out in my mind as being downright humble and attentive to their fans ... That's Strydom and Cottrell.

Thanks for the contribution Stunt.......never met either Strydom or Porter.

I will add that Boyer Coe is so calm and cool........really a good guy and laidback bigtime.

One of the first pros I ever saw in person ..........still inspires me to think about it.

He had on a Golds Gym warmup suit and looked really tiny............when it came off,he looked like a peice of sculpture that came to life.

Awesome posing routine..............Mr. Bay State,Mechanics Hall,Worcester Mass., circa 1976-78
